Been awhile since I've been on this site but due to the recent stories out there on fake news, I wanted to find out from you folks where someone could go to find "real news". If CNN, ABC, NBC, Fox etc are all fake news then where can i go to actually find real news. I'm not looking for left or right leaning websites such as huffington post or Drudge Report. If President Trump and his staff claim something is fake, where do i go to find the real news. The same if i hear something on tv and wanted to verify.

For the record, i"m not pro trump nor do i hate him. I actually think we should give him a chance. Not a fan of some of the stuff he says but something about him tells me he will either turn things around for the better or really screw things up. I'm hoping he turn things around.

ps. i'm partially asking because ATS was once a good site to get such information but all i hear is left/right bickering.

My friend, I can't believe I am saying this, but Fox News has seemed to be the most reliable of the main choices over the course of the last year. You have to use all sources available and draw your own conclusions.

The short answer? It doesn't exist. And even if it did, how would you know for sure?

Apparently you can find "non-fake news" on any website or tv station that you agree with.

That is super scary. It doesn't take much for a crazy to hook onto something he/she believes and run with it as factual.
Ps. I actually like what President Trump did with calling those lying stations Fake News. It will force them to actually start telling the truth. The problem is that he can now take the truth and spin it as fake. We're living in scary times brothers and sisters

I come here to ATS. From there we disect and find the truth.

Now I'm a Hypocrite..

But even here there may be 3 sides to every story.
: Yours
:Mine
:And the Truth

One thing is certain, I go out and live life in person. No media, just me. I'm witnessing the truth.

You want real news?
We'll need to create a robot with unbiased AI.

Humans have bias
Corporations have a bottom line

Just as history is written by the winners, the news supports the winners' story.

Apply critical unbiased thinking with independent research, fact checking (where/when possible) cross referencing with as many sources as you can find, and if it still stinks it is likely fake news.

Most people can't or won't do this, including many "journalists"... A fact the producers of fake news rely on.

ideologies determine what is "real" in their own minds. If it doesn't fit in with their personal agenda then it's a lie.

Some believe the Bible is the infallible word of GOD.

Whichever source that confirms your bias, that's the non fake one.

The first time I saw the present meme 'fake news' was in regards to the websites that were set up by either individuals or small groups and publishing online totally fabricated 'news' stories designed primarily to mislead conservatives into false beliefs. Some of these 'websites' were run by overseas people who could generate revenue for themselves through the number of people who clicked on to their sites. Eventually the Democrats decided to wage war on these fake news or rather completely phony news sites.

My next encounter with that meme, came in the form of a list that was drawn up by an editor of a Ron Paul website. It was called The Real Fake News List by Ron Paul. That list was comprised of every major news outlet and every liberal news outlet that it's author, not Ron Paul, could think of. It was not just a list but went so far as to show the logos of what the author considered the most damaging to conservative campaigns.
That was posted on ATS here.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Since that time the meme of fake news has become a rallying cry of conservative voters and at least one major Republican candidate against the entire main stream media.

I personally do not trust the main stream media. I have found over the last few decades that there are biases to them all. I just do not believe that they are as bad as is being made out by the recent outcries against them. I try to always take what they print or publish with a grain of salt but do not dismiss them entirely. And while I also study smaller, non mainstream media sources, I find many of them to have not only biases that rival the biases of msm, but in many cases take those biases to a whole new level.

That is all I have to offer. It is yours to evaluate and consider from your understanding of reality.

Well, I remember in the early days of UFO research photographs were still considered "proof". Yes, people could doctor photos in a dark room or throw pie plates -- but photo experts were able to study and uncover photo forgeries.

Today's digital landscape makes independent analysis much harder. With sophisticated digital manipulation, photos/videos/audio can all be convincingly faked and hard to prove false.

And, if by chance a photo/video/audio clip is proven faked, the damage is already done. The people who are predisposed to believing it have already in their minds used it to further bolster their beliefs.

We see this daily on ATS where hoaxes are exposed, and the believers and supporters magically evaporate from the thread. They never say, "well, I was wrong about that one! Sure had me fooled!".

If they don't disappear, they generally deflect to pointing out something about "the other side". You see, they're hoping to distract and derail the discussion away from how they were wrong by pointing out how someone else is obviously wrong.

All news is case by case.

Occasionally the MSM has their moments of truth just to keep up their image.

They usually throw 2 or 3 "real" facts out ahead of a "fake" story.

That way it's easier to get enough people to automatically believe the "lie".

However, they have been failing like crazy lately.

Too many people on to the gag.
