And even a bad apple has some sweetness in it somewhere, the trick is finding it! I, also, teach those that are in any form of public service that they made a choice to be there and it is up to them to take pride in their job and do the very best they can to provide the service they were hired for.

If they do not like dealing with customers they should find a hole to dig where the worms do not care.

Indeed; not everyone is cut out for serving the public. It is a joy for me, though. All it takes is one genuine thank you from a satisfied customer to make my day. Knowing that I can provide a service to my community through hard work and kindness is priceless.

That is awesome! You are so right, it always makes the effort worth it when the satisfaction is recognizable. I am so put off by the orientation rhetoric that many companies give to their new employees when they fail to implement or give ample support in order for their employees to actually provide said services.

I have to point this out when consulting sometimes that employees need support and tools to do their job properly, otherwise the orientation means nothing when it comes to providing customer service adequately.
