Imagine the whole universe just being a program on someone;s computer.

That would have to be some mighty powerful computer. i'll have to get myself one.

Maybe the whole universe is just inside Gods mind

Have you ever thought that the entire universe exist just because you expect it to?. I'm not talking about me, or the author of the previous post...but you.

You've willed the universe to exist, who not just...end it right now. Just do it.

You know who you are.

Who? Me? I thought it was you. It musta been the other guy (girl?)
Come forward...take responsibility for what you have done and let the Father of Light have His Way with You.

One thing that I've always thought is, what if we are just a test? What if, say 5 minutes ago, we were created. In the creation we were programed into thinking that we've been here all along but really the memories and history is all fake. We could be a 10 minute test. It seems as though we've been around for millions of years but really we've only been around for 5 minutes and in 5 more minutes the experiment will be terminated.

What do you guys think?

Is it not that DNA behave the same way...they replicates...and one only need a single strand to clone someone or something...?

hologram pictures have that same effect....no matter how small you a whole piece in miniature pieces...When light passes through one of those small pieces, it reflects the Whole picture.

I really like this theory, but it really scares me because

1) Is our universe part of something bigger? Beyond this holographic illusion, does a "true reality" exist? Is this the MATRIX?

2) So what happens when whatever runs out of energy and the universe shuts down. What would happen to us?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My 2nd question really scares me because i experienced a phenonium i like to call "the blackout effect."

The BlackOut Effect - When a numerious amount of people all a suddenly blacked out for a split second. Before the blackout people might havea heaviness feeling in their head and chest, and all a sudden for a split second, you felt like something had rebooted, everything turn pitch black, maybe people are aware of it because before the mind can fully "shut down", it restarted again.

I encounter this twice in my life, once at home when i was chilling with a couple of friends, and another time at school.

Fine. I can take a hint. I have set my end-of-the-world-clock to 13.0.0.0.0.

The holographic universe theory has been around for a little bit now. It's just as mind expaning as it ever was...very interesting stuff. Any quantum theory for that matter really.

Actually this effect (the particle 'communication') was discovered way before 1982... back in 1935. Einstein called it 'spooky action at a distance.' I don't know why the article proclaims it as a new discovery.

This might be a crash of the system of whatever computer we are a part of.

Has anyone read "a brief history of time" by Stephen Hawking? I don't have it to hand any more but I'm pretty sure he mentions something like what is stated on the holographic web page. Not the holographic stuff of course, the part where somehow each particle always seems to know what the other is doing. I can't remember if he gave any theories or reasons why this happens, but perhaps someone with the book to hand could look it up?

I've got the book...found it last night when I was reorganizing my Den.
Work now...but I'll look for the passages tonight.

Regarding the connection of 'particles', whatever their perceived distance from each other, this all fits in with the recent M-theory (membrane theory), which developed out of string theory, and states that the whole universe is connected by a membrane in the 11th dimension. Every particle in the universe is no more than a billion billionth of millimetre from this membrane, so therefore any point in the universe is this near any other point (in the 11th dimension).

The beauty of this theory is that it might finally prove to be 'the theory of everything' for which scientists have been searching for decades.

It also puts forward a possible answer to the big bang, parallell universes, and the reason why gravity is such a weak force (compared to magnetism for example, i.e, a small pin which has the gravity of the whole earth pulling on it will be successfully lifted by the use of a small magnet).

Here's a transcript of a BBCTV Horizon science doco on this subject from 2002. It explains it all in layman's terms, and is worth reading.

If anyone is interested (this is a conspiracy board!) you can read about David Icke's threory on the holographic world in the Exclusive AboveTopSecret.com Community Interview.

If you look at how a hologram is displayed - the beam split, one to the surface of the object to be shown, the other by way of a mirror to the object's surface -

it sounds a bit like the Sunlight reaching Earth, but also reaching Earth by way of it reflecting off of the Moon.

Funny how The Moon in tarot cards is a distortion of truth.

Maybe it is placed exactly so as to block out aspects of light, rendering some things unviewable. That one sounds more likely to me than the actual physical world being generated by a hologram, I don't think light (heat) creates, I think sound is what gives things physicality.

Research shows that DNA acts as a holographic projector of acoustic and electromagnetic information. The Millers (see link) contend that DNA 'contains the informational quintessence of the human biohologram'
We and our world are in a sense a projection of the background energy stream or matrix with the wave function of DNA the connecting point

Not saying you are a liar,

but how would DNA be holographic?

If you broke it up, then you would be missing the codons that coded for all the different things that have to be built, and when to build them, and what with.

If some of the DNA is lost, I don't know that it could be made up from the remaining DNA, because the codons would all be different.

It seems to be more like a book, DNA, if you lose pages or chapters out of a book, you can perhaps guess at some of what might have taken place, but you will not be able to fill in the missing words just because they are made of the same letters as the rest of the words in the book are.

Perhaps we're talking less of the hologram as fragmentable parts each including the whole and more of DNA projecting the background creative energy state into holographics occupying sacred geometrical forms ie us and our universe

Or perhaps the answer to your point lies in the 97% so-called particulate 'junk DNA', perhaps concerned with wave-form modulation

See not only the link but Len Horowitz's excellent book, 'DNA - Pirates of the Sacred Spiral'
