Am I the dumb #? It's cool if I am.

The story never said she didn't have the $. The sheriff did say they wouldn't fund it.

You go out and get pregnant, you hold the responsibility of raising that child. Period.

Responsibility? YES.

Making decisions that are right for you. Its NO ONE else's business.

And it takes TWO to get pregnant.

Don't complicate this with your progressive spin. It's simple and has been since the first man and woman walked this earth.

Engage in fornication, you're likely to get pregnant. Simple birds and the bees stuff. Don't want to get pregnant, there's numerous avenues to pursue. Get pregnant and you're suddenly responsible for another life. Unless it was against your will(rape) or delivering threaten your life, your personal "it's all about me" frame of mind doesn't matter and doesn't give you priority over another person's life.

In general, it's amazing to me you can get so bent out of shape over Trump yet fully support murder because of "feelings".

Some women seem to think they can go out and get hammered and screw any guy who comes along, just spread their legs for anyone and then turn around and murder the child. Absolutely ridiculous. Society needs to stop pampering un-responsible women.

This doesn't have anything to do with "some women's" behavior. This has to do with this woman not having the funds on her own

Stop right there with your weak excuses.

If you don't have the money to raise a child, don't spread your legs on Sat evening. Or, use birth control.

all of which would have entitled any women funding for an abortion as long as she could prove the need for the financial assistance.

They wouldn't need to fund her abortion if she had her own funds! Use your brain! THINK!

I don't think Tennessee allows their tax money to fund abortions unless the pregnancy the result of rape, in which case the sheriff could only make a determination on that if the inmate became pregnant while incarcerated, or incest or to protect the life of the mother, neither of which are under the sheriffs purview.

This story doesn't have anything to do with your self appointed moral superiority. Having a child is not a punishment!

Man you are in a snarky mood.

The Sheriff said they wouldn't fund it. Does that mean she did or didn't have the money? It doesn't mean she didn't have the funds, you are assuming that.

Of course the sheriff is going to say that, he wants to get elected again. No one wants limited taxpayer $ to go to abortions.

I'm not taking sides on this issue but aren't we forgetting about this....
California Is First to Pay for Prisoner’s Sex-Reassignment Surgery

Talk about an unnecessary procedure....hmmm

And I'm sure there is a thread here about this, but my ats/google fu fails me.

I agree with you, there is little need to get into the medical areana. This is jail, and you have lost a lot of rights.

Of course this situation, LOSS OF RIGHTS, would never happen to a man.

No matter how drunk and how much sex he had.

Takes about 1.5 million to raise a kid anyway, right?

I have no idea how they came up with this number but it's ridiculous and I hope it is tossed out. It reeks of frivolity.
