This is a mere fraction of the number (3000) for Obama's inauguration.

However, there are 1200 applications for parking permits (with overflow bus parking available) for the Women's March on the day after the Inauguration. It's unknown how many will attend, but charter bus sites (Rally is one such) show buses going that are full (no tickets available) Some of Rally's buses (the California ones) are headed to a large protest in Los Angeles.

At this point there are 281 sister marches around the world planned for that day.

Should be lots of pink hats around. No planned marches here in Dallas that I've seen, but one in Denton, one in Austin... and Houston area folks are taking a rally bus to DC and they also have a rally. As does Beaumont. Hands down, I bet the rally that will be the biggest hoot will be New Orleans. They're gearing up for Mardi Gras... and N'awlins does love a good party. Or tourists. Or partying tourists.

So you can keep things in mind for a comparison, 3,000 busloads of people (plus train riders and so forth) who showed up for the Obama inauguration looked like this: www.macleans.ca...

Another view at this link

That's... an awful lotta people.

I'm going to predict that the number of buses for Trump's inauguration won't go over 300, but that the number for the Women's march will go over 1200 (I heard it was 1300 today but didn't have a reliable source on that.)

If the bus count reflects the number of attendees, the protest will be around four times the size of the inauguration.

(and on a note of Attempted Humor, if the Womens' Rally would just hold a few balls, I bet the dressmakers in DC could see dress sales boom again (sales numbers are down this year)

Maybe they should've protested at the ballot box instead.

Maybe Trump don't need to bus in fake supporters?

The thread opened itself up to that one.

Trump can hire people to clap for him.

That's a viable option

I can almost guarantee the majority of protesters did not bother to vote.

Same thing happened here after Brexit. The Majority of "Remain" protests were people who didn't bother to go and vote in the referendum.

This has always struck me as very strange. The actual process takes less than a minute out of your day...

I agree. 42% or so of American voters didn't go to the polls. Priorities on display I would suppose. Based on pure speculation of course.

Unlike Barack Obama, Donald J. Trump was not elected for showmanship and pizzazz. We voted for him to make America greater, and will support his efforts, however possible. Showing up in the cold to see very little, is not something that furthers that agenda.

The Million Women Against Trump, and Millennials-in-Distress protestors can have all the bus spaces they want.

What's the point of this post?

Even if no one shows up (which is ludicrous..), he will still be sworn in as our next president.

No matter the bs being planned by opposition groups or the attempts to stop it from happening.

It's called continuity of government.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING will stop constitutional procedures on Jan. 20th.

Can't wait to see all the socialists, anarchists and communists get their rearends handed to them trying to overthrow the proceedings.

Pop your corn ....it's going to be good either way.

No, you guys are attracted to him because he is mean, loud and spiteful; he is a walking show. You are pulling the wool over your own eyes

No, actually we are pulling the wool off your eyes for the last eight years promising an economic recovery that has been plagued with social dependent programs, and fraudulent disability claims.

Get ready to "un-retire" from the governments "teat", get back to work, and pull your own weight!

You'll be better for it...and think of the respect you will receive having faced responsibility head on and pushing hard for a better day like the rest of us.

It's going to be okay...

First black president. I cried that night and then had to drink my own tears..

And you thought to make a thread about this?

But then your post history is pretty patterned. LOL.

Next you will tell us one of Trump's shoes has a hidden soul to life him up 1 inch on the left. Cause he's so uneven or something.

I have an idea.
Say something important.

Please don't over-generalize like that!

I voted for Donald Trump because he's a businessman who gets things done, and knows how to motivate others to get things done. And the things he wants to get done, are the things that I want to see get done.

#1. Get Rid of frickin ObamaCare.
#2. Invest time, talent, and cash, in making our country as modern and glistening as Dubai...and many other places on the planet.

I would make a snide comment but you're already have to live with that statement in the back of your mind until the next Trump fiasco on Twitter, vs. Movie stars, vs the press, vs ratings on the show he is still a producer of, the showmanship of telling voters he'll make another country pay for infrastructure built in America, and oh yea... The 'deportation team' show

Oh, promising to make America great and 0 policies laid out 7 days to go ☺️

Thats mainly why I voted for him personally.
But presumably the Trump crowd have their own private chauffeur and a Bentley to make an entrance, no need for busses

Oh, look shiny and you are happy.

As to Dubai....

A 2006 NPR report quoted Baya Sayid Mubarak, the Indian consul for labor and welfare in Dubai, as saying "the city's economic miracle would not be possible without armies of poorly paid construction workers from the Indian sub-continent"

you want Trump to import lots of cheap workers....

Homosexuality is illegal. The death penalty is one of the punishments for homosexuality

You want to make homosexuality illegal, carrying a death penalty....

Drugs found in urine or blood testing count as "possession" under UAE law. Raymond Bingham, BBC's DJ Grooverider, was sentenced to four years in prison after a pair of jeans in his luggage was found to contain just over 2 grams of marijuana.

You want recreational drugs banned

Why don't you just move to Dubai if you like all the shiny?
