If the IC can't be trusted, and it sure looks like they are playing politics instead of playing verify the facts, I don't see the US moving in a favorable direction. If I was a conspiracy person, I might think that whomever has been in charge since Bush Sr. has been in charge ever since, and they got really comfortable using the MSM to be the propaganda machine, along with using the credibility of the IC to back stories. Those people (TPTB) seem to not be able to direct Trump yet, and should his tone change greatly in a week, I think we will know why. But then again, that's what a nutty conspiracy guy would say, so never mind.

Look at how often the press has been caught out falsifying or fudging the way they report on things. Can you honestly say that you know for sure which reports and sources are telling the truth and which aren't, from either side, or even from the set that claim they tell it straight down the middle?

What I think is that you guys are in trouble.

This story could be true. Such things have happened to people before.

It could, equally, be false in which case its irrelevant.

However, in both cases, now, following all the screaming of fake news, neither side matters, and no one knows for sure.

So when something real happens, what are you going to do?

It is amply obvious that large elements of the government are not trustworthy at present.

Not sure what planet you live on to be able to say "you guys are in trouble", thinking that none of this affects you. If this is BS, and the IC and MSM ran with it, they have officially jumped the shark and need not be trusted again. And if that's the case, we the people (that includes the sooper smart liberals as well as us knuckle dragging right wingers) need to do some restructuring on how we interpret news. Kind of like how most of us have been operating the last 8 years, assuming most of what is said is slanted, and the truth lies between the lines.

I agree it is a real problem. But a couple of points.

First, maybe its just my mistake reading your context, but when you say things like "you guys are in trouble" to me that implies you are not. I would argue that as an obvious consumer of news, you are in the same boat as us.

Secondly, although I agree with you that there is a problem with everyone shouting fake news and not looking into things, you seem to place the blame more with the consumer. I think that it is evident that the media all sides of the political spectrum are the ones that deserve the blame.

If you see the same exact vehicle driving behind two separate reporters (at different locations) within seconds......it's probably fake news.

If you claim Russia hacked the electric grid because an employee got a virus on a computer from watching porn.....it's probably fake news.

If you claim members from Trump's team was secretly flying to Prague, when he in fact has never been there......it's probably fake news.

If you claim Trump enjoys Golden Showers in Russia based on what shoddy evidence has been offered.....You are probably reporting fake news.

I trust a little critical thought with a dash of common sense.
