I think we both are on a different level.

Seems like you look at a firearm as only a killing tool.

And I see them as target shooting, modifying and no gun I have ever owned has killed anyone.

Also all the rat poison I have hasn't killed anyone, but it could.

I remember seeing a video of a long pile of guns getting steamrolled from your country when they were suddenly outlawed.

AUSTRALIA: MORE VIOLENT CRIME DESPITE GUN BAN
www.ncpa.org...

The more violent crime thing is down to how statistics are collected, the NRA sponsored group that released the study your referencing knew this but failed to mention it as it didnt fit its agenda.

It had something to do with police budgets and shortly after we had our voluntary gun buy back the way crime was reported by police changed, for instance if police responded to a call for a bar fight and when they got there no one was hurt or all participants had left it was still counted as an assualt/violent crime.

Even before the gun ban gun crime has never been a big issue for Aussies and it certainly hasnt become one since

In Michigan we were debating the concealed carry law and the governor said there would be shoot outs in the streets. A few years after it passed she had to eat a little crow and say that she was wrong.

There is proof that guns make people safer. The problems are the dumb asses who end up messing with another dumb asses who get it in the head. Guns can be very lethal and in the wrong hands are dangerous. Maybe concentrate on that?

i put this story up becasue you have to read it, it is the opposite of what the title says.

So who decides whos a dumb ass and who isnt?

Most of the gun lovers are against any sort of regulation that would restrict anyone having access to firearms, even the dumb asses

EDIT: I read the article you linked and Im not sure I understand?
It would seem to suggest what Im saying is correct

Wrong, dumb asses are people who brandish fire arms and use them for unintended uses.

Wrong again, I am against violent criminals, mentally incompetent, and violent felons owning guns.

I go to the shooting range, gun show or any place where there are armed citizens and you know what? There is NO problems. No fights, no yelling and everyone is courteous. Just my experience.

I go everywhere all the time and I never see any problems or fights or yelling and most people are courteous just as a matter of course.
I certainly dont equate any of those things with the fact guns are or arent present.

If gun shows and shooting ranges are the only places that you can find people being decent human beings then your right and probably need to carry a gun on you at all times.

How do you weed out the dumb asses from getting their hands on guns in the first place?

I don't see how freedom revolves around a gun. I mean if you support terrorism indirectly good for you!

Would you agree that being able to buy a gun is a form of freedom?

Would you agree that if that right is taken that a freedom is gone?

How does owning a gun support terrorism?

Anybody can buy a gun from the black market and yell freedom.

If that right is taken, I'd just go back to the black market.

Again, the black market supports terrorist acts. Any gun that isn't sold isnt gonna be burned and call it a day. manufacturers have to make money too.

Who else will they sell it.. oh yeah the terrorists that are made by the US government.

Anyway good luck on that freedom without support terrorism indirectly.

Buying a gun from a black market source is a way to loose your freedom.

Umm, the gun industry is having record year after record year after.......

Got a source on your burned gun comments?

Got a source for your blackmarket guns used in terrorist acts.

You do realize I have the freedom to buy it regardless of law. What freedom will I lose?

Of course they do! They sell it to other countries around the world and say they sold enough to buy a country.

What?

Why need a source when you know it's true. A friend or relative can get one for any terrorist. It's not that hard.

Speaking as a former soldier such elitism is ONLY found in the protected enclaves of their own august environs and NOWHERE else .
AS a being of warfare I can but see amusement in such rampant passive blindness, but DO go on at the horrible black rifles WE really enjoy that part.
Intelligent ..possibly but one NEVER will be smart hard wired to victimhood at the next crisis, enjoy your intellectual journey beyond the planet we are stuck on together.

Your "Inherent" visions become so much DUST when realities of humanity decide FOR you.

I dont at all. If it was the middle ages id celebrate spears and swords..maybe horses.. suck it up

My point exactly, your celebrating a weapon.

Ill leave it for you to figure out what that says about you

You know what is enormously ironic?
The vast majority of Amerikkkans who need guns to feel secure/masculine/safe are self-identified 'Xtians'!
Any real Xtian has Faith in God, not in Mr. Colt!

I fail to see the irony

Luke 22:35-36King James Version (KJV)

35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

And back the original topic...

As an American citizen who fully supports the 2nd Amendment, I think its great that the Chinese immigrants into the country are doing this. The more Americans that support, value and exercise their freedom to lawfully own and use a firearm, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

You are very much wrong about that. The vast majority of American gun owners support strengthening penalties for use or even mere physical possession of firearms during the commission of a violent crime. Most also support the current prohibitions on firearms ownership for convicted felons and those adjudicated as mentally incompetent. I certainly do, on all counts.

Just to add, the reason why is because the tens of millions of us who are responsible, law-abiding owners understand that every time some dipstick commits a violent crime with a firearm that makes headlines, the media and the politicians use it to paint all of us in a negative light and to disparage our rights when we've done nothing wrong. We may have major philosophical and political disagreements over the best way to go about preventing those people from acquiring firearms, but you're very much making an erroneous assumption that gun owners are indifferent to it.
