Quite a few folks think I am strange because I don't mind spiders and even more so, I like looking at their webs.

How about Dame Noir?

Good luck to you all with your new pet.

I'd go with Chronos (greek god of time, a nod to the hourglass and the nature of the spider.)

Yes. I asked him how he likes Mrs. Trueman and he said "that's fine". Not as exciting for him, i guess.

I know I know!! It it took me more than a minute to be OK with this. But yesterday, I finally caught something and tossed it in there with her and, once I made the conscious decision to FEED her, I think that was when I finally felt like "this is my squishy and I shall call her squishy and she shall be MY squishy!"

You better hope she hasn't mated for the season and starts laying eggs. Each eggsack can muster up to 900 spiderlings. Don't worry most will canabalize each other, but the others being very tiny can escape through tiny crevises, cracks or screens.

The female creates papery egg sacs that contain between 200 and 900 eggs each, according to NCSU. The eggs hatch after about 30 days.

Lol you people get in such a tizzy. When you see an egg sac you can dispose o it or put it into a sealed container for breeding. They eggs don't hatch over night and besides they breed in the spring so her ssacs should be spent but if they aren't then it's not a worry
