She is a venomous spider. Not normally aggressive and the bite is not normally fatal. Note the word NORMALLY.
They should not be handled by children, the elderly or the ill. One may not know they have even been bitten until they experience symptoms. Some
healthy adults may have severe reactions.
Unless your husband has some kind of training, this is not a good idea. I have seen some beautiful spiders, especially tarantulas, bred for awesome
coloring- by people with training.
But one does not 'decide one day to take home a black widow' as if it were a cat.
