My mind ticks over on what long range reconnaissance platforms they must be working on.

The F-35 boggles the mind so I'd probably be mind blown by the capabilities of what they must be working on.

There's a couple hundred page thread that rambles all over the place but has some rather interesting info on it.

As for the F-35, future upgrades will prove to be very interesting.

Yeah that's a great thread.

I posted s YouTube video I found interesting on it a bunch of kids took in LA playing Pokemon Go... Not the best footage but it was a green light clearly too slow for a fireball but obviously doing some speed.

Might have been nothing but I figured it might have been what people were on about in that thread.

Been a while since I checked that thread.

Me, too. If only half of what I've read about the capabilities of this aircraft are true it's going to be a huge success. If all of 'em are, and the future upgrades hinted at are all they're cracked up to be? War winner.

It's pilots will be using the same phrases Mustang and Spitfire pilots used, and still do...those that are left.

No, they can't. I feel like I'm hitting a brick wall. Satellites don't have radar systems that can see airborne targets for the big thing. The F-35 is seeing airborne targets before they leave their parking spot, as soon as the systems power up.

Without a significant change they can't datalink to aircraft. These are all the same arguments used when the SR-71 was retired, and they ended up bringing them back because there was a huge hole in our capabilities.

Brick wall meet brick wall

These are simply digital programs ran by each operating unit. The plane itself is really nothing special outside the design and skin it is put in. A giant mountain could do the same thing technologically, however it is becoming more and more compact.

That does not negate the effectiveness of satellites. Relaying info via actual ground sources, but the moment you develop a transmission method unknown to others is the same moment they start trying to figure out how you do it.

My personal opinion still is overwhelming satellite support via f-22, and we shouldn't have to worry about a technological disadvantage for at least a decade.

Of course it could. Get back to me when your satellites are providing real time radar imaging of airborne targets, datalink information, and battlefield management and you might have a point.

Radar doesn't work from space. It should be obvious the advantage of having local targeting systems. What are you going to do when your GPS fails, just give up?

Quantum Spooky radar will be implemented soon, and is far superior to a satellite for locating invisible objects.

I came across this brief video excerpt a few days ago of the moments after the meeting between Trump and Boeing officials, as the officials were leaving Trump's Palm Beach estate. Despite Trump owning golf courses, I highly doubt he will be found spending much time golfing over the next four years.

Can the President-Elect make you any happier?

Yes.

He'll CONNECT with the people at the same time as driving an agenda.

It's his agenda that worries me , the rich ruling for the rich seems to be the direction of travel.
Cutting costs usually leads to cutting corners , we will see where the shortfall is made up.

His power will be great.

Great power doesn't necessarily lead to a great President but it can lead to a great dictator.
Never been happier not to be an American.
Good luck.

Can the President-Elect make you any happier? One friggin Tweet and this guy makes shockwaves.

Exactly. He makes a tweet about Boeing and its stock price drops. He makes a tweet about Lockheed, its stock drops and Boeing's twitches back up. Notice the pattern? He's not getting things done, he's playing head games with Wall Street.

Now the captains of industry have to shuffle in to Trump's palace and give Trump credit for fulfilling their government contracts as planned. What a con!

Wait till he finds out congress is buying 35 dollar cupcakes. I view government spending on all these projects the same way. Just think how fast our debt will be cut when we cut those projects down to be reasonable. At the grocery store you buy a 3 or 4 dollar cupcake it had better be one elluva cupcake.

here you go

Sure, it's only tracking weather data in 30 minute intervals, but could easily be reprogrammed for second by second data recording easily.

We have 650+ other known satellites in orbit. (Stats for the US alone)
