I see my boys have been partying without me. Pass me a drink would you? Not whiskey though, unless it's mixed with something to make it taste good.

Lol yup, Mac is back!

Ya even though the TedTalks is 6 months away, I'm still really excited about.
It's cool when you become recognized as an expert in something and people actually seek you out and want to hear my ramblings about my geek things hahah.

On another note, Martins father and I have put together some very large potential contracts. It may see me traveling the USA very soon. So some really exciting times ahead this year.

I hope your doing well and had a great Xmas and new year!

It's about -20 C or so right now. So not to bad.

I don't mind it either unless it is windy. It was actually beautiful late morning. The sun was out, it was bitterly cold and the air "crystalized", it looks like tiny diamonds floating around. I don't know the name of this phenomena, but I do enjoy it.
We are warming up now -16 and counting up towards snow for Sunday night. And 34 Monday, I don't like that, every thing gets wet and heavy.

Is wood your primary heat source?
I honestly tried to give it my best, but my house is just to dang big to heat with only wood.

Yes it is, and I love it though it takes a lot of work. My house is a shoe box, but I honestly wish it was smaller I have to use electric in the bathroom and keep my stove running in the kitchen because heat rises and they are on lower levels. So I get it, it is hard to keep a modern house warm with wood.
And then there is the "science" behind it, Wood isn't just wood. BTU's, how long has it been cut, kindling wood, wood for over night burning, how much ash does it produce. I love it.
My favorite is black locust, it's BTU's are fractions below white oak and it burns cleaner.
Sorry for rambling.

Okay. It's gitta be somewhere where snow hasn't made a thick cover yet.
....Kansas?

Nope.
Now let us keep this riddle going. I give you some hints and you can't ask any Sheddites where I am.
Hint # 1 Northern parts of the state have fair snow cover due to lake effect.
Hint # 2 The average temperature varies greatly from north to south.

T'is a shame they couldn't wait for the grand elf maiden, don't you think?

I shall pass you one, but you must trust me to enjoy it as I bid. Whiskey as it is spelt in the Irish tradition and Whisky in Scottish, is a "sacred" drink, thus Uisge Beatha, "Water of Life". It truly is and should not be blasphemed by adding any thing but water. And that only to certain brews.
I am no expert but it is a draught for the Gods when savored with reverence.

Yes I am talking to the Shed. As as for Irish, Moms side was Mc Cartys from Ireland, Chiltons from England, ( Bob and Marty Chilton on the Mayflower) and Geirtners from Germany. Mom passed 4 years ago, and I miss her so very much. She was my best friend. Dad was always a very quiet scientist, super intelligent, and kept his buffer zone. He always just loved the hell out of his pauper outgoing outgoing farm raised wife , He has changed now and we are closer. He is a wonderful dad. So anyway, Im sippin brandy and better shut up. I love You guys. You are the best

Mac, it looks like you have wonderful things to look forward. So happy for you!

Rider, that was so very sweet of you to post that vid for us. We love you too! What's not to love? Miss you when you aren't here!

Wis, I don't mean to blaspheme the whiskey by adding anything other than water but...I must. If it wasn't mixed with something else, I couldn't drink it. Bleck! Besides, I like black Russians better, or an exotic drink or wine or whatever. Cool image up there for Lux! I hope she /he doesn't mind my calling them Lux. You know how we love to shorten or change names in here. LOL

One of my Grandmothers was a McMahan if I spelled that right. The Irish came from my Dad's side. I miss my Mom too Rider. I just got an e-mail from my best friend Diane about her and her siblings making arrangements for when her Mom passes. She is 93 and not doing so well these days. You can never be prepared for losing a Parent if you are close to them. I'm glad you and your Dad are close now.
Hugs!

Its Hennsey Hon.
Kinda buzzed thinkin about mom tonight. My sisters both flew out of Minnesota and Black Hills South Dakota to celebrate Dads 90th birthday. All his buddies are dead, but we got ahold of several youngsters in their late 70s who worked for and with him. He was so happy. He had a great time. We met up at Fenix in Lodi California and they opened the restaurant just for him. There were two pastors there. One was from the 70s, he had been a bad ass boxer. His wife instantly connected with my older sons girlfriend who is a very foxy Black girl. Things went very well, and everyone had a great time

Thank you Gordi, I will.

Writing takes me away to another time and place, like others here who enjoy the creativity of it. It's so much better than chocolate!

Self employed is definitely a good place to be in

I've found my room and I must say, it's the best Holodeck ever!

I was wandering about in the back and kept seeing people walking in and out of this very mysterious doorway, so being investigative I decided to come check it out and ended up right here. I'm glad i didn't take a wrong turn or I may have ended up in a bad room instead.

What a beautiful picture WalkInSilence, and thank you very much for such a nice Welcome!
I do bake sometimes yes. Most of the time they aren't burnt, a nice added bonus, along with hot chocolate with the little marshmellows in.
