These kids never got to eat at the adults table on holidays at family gatherings, that much is pretty evident. It won't get better, it can only get worse.

Why do I care what college kids are doing these days?

Because in a very short time these children are going to be the leaders of this, and I'm sure, other countries--or some will be anyway... Certainly they will be helping shape society.

That's why I care what college kids are doing these days. Though most will, or so it's to be most fervently hoped for, grow out of it and join the rest of us in the real world...some, however, will not. Those will cause no end of issues in the future.

Do you care college kids party a lot? Have sex? Expierment with drugs? Study? They're kids coming into their own and once they enter the work force their lives will change yet again and they will assimilate with the rest of us.

Focusing on their activities is such a waste of time.

I guess you're right. They're far more likely to create the society of Logan's Run. They'll come up with all kinds of altruistic sounding reasons for it though, and then when it's their turn, they'll all whine about how it's not fair.

College is supposed to prepare kids for real life.

If this is behavior that they will not be allowed to engage in in real life and college coddles them, then they aren't being prepared very well, are they?

And as a college alum who is often called and asked to donate money ... well, you might well imagine that I like to know that my alma mater is undertaking to prepare kids for life on the outside rather than turning them even more into spoiled brats unfit for reality.
