I never did like the word "SUPER POWER"

I don't want the US to be a super power
I want it to be a "SUPER LEADER"

Although i support the war in Iraq because it has been needed for a long period of time. The US and other world leaders and nations have known for decades the effects rising from these terrorists regimes, and have bickered and put it off while millions of people haved died, and millions more may die into the future if we hadn't taken action. My main point is that the US needs to win this war physically while at the same time, doing it responsibly and as clean as possible. A neutron bomb on any middle east nation would give the image that we care none for human life and for future human life. Our best weapon is for more world backing and more conifdent and motivated IRAQI organizations to fight terrorism. This means getting IRAQ on track and Afghanistan on track to show that it is possible for a middle eastern nation to flourish under freedom and democracy supported by the rest of the world. Wouldn't it be great to see IRAQ and Afghanistan successfully rebuilt like the great country of Germany, or Japan? Then the US cause would be more respected. Hopefully i make a little bit of sense.

I can't even believe this is a topic of discussion!

Zabigly...what are you, about 5? Maybe you are for concentration camps too....oh yeah, another good Holocaust otta get rid of tons of annoying people. Geez, Auschwitz is still standing...maybe you could rent it out.. Why reinvent the wheel?

Shame. Keep an attitude like that, go ahead. Its the reason the much of the world feels contempt for the U.S.

Try looking within your own country and government and you'll see the source of the problem there now.

Yeah I'm a nut job. You seem to confuse religion with faith. What does the Bible have to do with religion? And Bush the Tush went after Sad Ham because it deflected the masses off of the true problem. He was hoping that this would make the American people feel we did something in response to 9/11....and sadly, most of them bought it. The Bushes and the Bin Laden's have been linked for many years and have money invested in the same organizations....and both families are making a ton of money off this war. Why did we give refuge in this country to members of Bin Laden's family? Hell...the Bush administration could have been working with Bin Laden in hopes of causing a mass catastrophe to make Bush out to be the hero that came along and went after the "bad guys"....who knows?? Why haven't we found him? Are we really looking? Maybe he's staying up in Kennebunkport with Dubya's Daddy...they're probably ice fishing right now!

But seriously....there's more to this "war" than meets the eye....there's a hidden reason why we're dragging it out and our troops are paying for it with their lives...and also some of our civilians!

If we have such great "intelligence" agencies in this country, some of the names we know and many we don't know, why haven't we taken him out?

Whatever...there's a lot of questions and that's why we have debates...to express our opinions and learn from each other.......

Wow.....the world has so much contempt for the US because of me! I must be pretty damn powerful and important. I think I'll buy me a new suit!

Since we are there(Iraq) & some are entertaining this thought...in no way should anyone condone a neutron attack on Iraq...we all know there are far too many innocents who can't speak up for their own defense...and we are better than that...not to mention intelligent enough to realize that it would forever undermine any possibility of the US being perceived as a champion of human rights in the world.

As for UBL,Ayman Al-Zawahiri,Mullah Omar,& their disciples till the death frolicking like gerbils in their labyrinthian sanctuary,I must say I'm with HIFIGUY here-could be an option to save our men from risky boobytrapped caverns & ambush friendly cliffs in their attempt to authenticate the dead following the use of other high yield bunker busters,if ever coordinates can be officially determined & verified, have troops quietly evacuate woman, children, tribal innocents, seemingly friendlies,& animals from the targetted area, then send in an all too familiar & detectible(by now) predator armed with a neutron, perhaps coupled with a daisy cutter to appease the hysterics & minimize the replayable damning footage that would follow. Not much reason to be up in those perilously reachable caves if you're not hiding from something.

Well since the originator of this thread confessed he was a nut job... Why do we bother to discuss the proposed mass extermination of civilians in a faw away country?

Zabigly would do fine in the Nazi Germany. Were he born there, we'd see him on the footage from Nuremberg.

Grow up - what I said was its attitudes like yours that breed contempt of the U.S.

Let's see how smug you are when the draft comes to a mailbox near you.

On second thought if the neutron was ever an option in the remote reaches of Afghanistan/Pakistan,it would have been implemented during Tora Bora instead of relying on Masud's unreliable northern alliance to conduct the ground attack.

Those were different times. So much was not understood. Radiation fallout for one. As everyone learned that a nuke is alot more than just a really strong bomb, it became taboo. The Korean conflict was just several years after the US dropped the 2 nukes, and already it was known that it might not be too cool to use them again. There's a reason why they aren't used.

We did have about 7 atomic bombs flown to the area during the Korean war though more of a deterent against China entering the war on a full scale I think.

Those were indeed different times during WW2 just have to look at some of the test we had our own guys watching them in open trenchs they had no clue to how dangerous that could be.

I’m surprised no one has brought up the obvious.

Why doesn’t the U.S. use a neutron bomb in Iraq? Because technically, we don’t own any. The W-70s were all supposed to be scrapped as part of the arms reduction pact of 1993.

Wow what a total shocker thread. Who would have thought yet another post-draft age couch general would be espousing genocide in the Middle East on the internet? Take a number buddy. This is old hat.

The only thing you are missing is a microphone and an ultra conservative radio station to spew your bile.

Zabilgy I think your seeing this in black and white only , For one the world shouldn't fear us, if they did they wouldn't do business with us and we would lose a buttload of money. Jobs would be gone, People would commit more crimes , and you would be happy?!?!?! when 9/11 happened it broke my heart as much as it did every other american , i was angry , i was sad, I cried, I prayed for all my friends in the New York CIty area. But i never ever contemplated bombing innocent women and children so that we look like the big dog on the block. So if the unibomber would have had a crew would it okay to bomb a city in the U.S. just to stop him?the world is not black and white, and for every action there is a equal and opposite reaction pushing against it. We should lead by example , not by stooping down to the level of people that we are fighting against.

Doing that would be no better than a man raping your wife and you in return raping his wife?!?! it's stupid , it barbaric and you should be better than thinking that way, there is no justice in that. Rethink your wording , unless you really think that killing kids is okay as long as we WIN WIN WIN , HOORAY FOR US LETS HAVE A PARADE , WHO CARES HOW MUCH DAMAGE WE CAUSE A WORLD . WE WON THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS!!!

Hi all, new here. Respect.
OK Zabilgy, I'm assuming that this was a serious rather than an ironic question.
Well, firstly I think that would be a bad idea because you'd be killing people, and in general you shouldn't do that.
Why has the US invaded Iraq?
1. to find WMDs. This hasn't worked so, we move swiftly to reason no.2: To liberate the Iraqis. Killing them is a sort of liberation, I'll give you that, but it's possibly not the kind that they were hoping for.
Reason no.3 - because the US wants Iraq (or, more specifically, Iraq's oil). Now here is why you should bomb them, but the thing is, it's only fair to let them keep the oil, isn't it? I mean, they've had kind of a raw deal as it is, right?
Can I also ask why you want people to fear the US? I like people to like me and I think that if I was American I'd still like people to like me. I'm not sure that you can really like someone who scares you.
Anyway, to summarise - don't kill all the Iraqis because that would be thoroughly evil.

Thats a load of crap. Japan was days, maybe a few weeks away from surrendering anyways. The U.S. A-bombed them because it wanted to end the war on a high note that the Russians would take notice of. Since both governments knew they would soon be fighting each other.

The U.S. dropped the bomb on Japan for no other reason than to show the world that it was taking over, not to end the war that was already ending.
