As to the OP and Trump: i dont care if the guy is a megalomaniac. Like most people who prefer him over Hillary all i really care about is if he does a decent job...and by decent i mean, keeping us out of unnecessary wars and nation building.....like a war with Russia for example. So....he can think hes God for all i care, as long as he doesnt do anything supremely reckless like tell Russia we are going to attack them with military force if they hack us.

He is already flirting with war with China. Do you think it was complete naïvté that he called Taiwan before PRC?

Taiwan's president called him.

The call was pre-arranged. Trump is the only one claiming that President Tsai called him. Chinese sources are vague:

The story broke here.

How is that flirting War? Sure a diplomatic Faux Pas, hardly on the level of Clinton wanting a no fly zone over Syria.
You really think China will attack the USA all because he called Taiwan first? Get real.
The USA has been the aggressor in countless wars in the last century, put your professorial skill's to work and do some real research.

In fairness, if he (Trump) does a great job, would you admit that you are wrong? In my experience, anybody with a farthings worth of intelligence is willing to say that they could be wrong. You seem to have left none.

Not true. I'm a Trump supporter, and very non-emotional about it. I have my reservations about the man and frankly wish there was a stronger candidate to vote for.

As a Trump supporter, I'll be one of the guys holding his feet to the flames.

That's a super good point.

Shouldn't every American be working to force him to do a good job?

How is that flirting War?

On the campaign trail Trump blamed China for "taking American jobs" and being a "currency manipulator," He implied that he would place tariffs or economic sanctions on them. Those would be the first steps towards war. For thirty years, th United States has recognized only the government in Beijing as being legitimate. Dealing with Taiwan suggests a complete reversal of United States policy towards an important regional power.

Here is an additional twist:

New reports of possible Trump investments in Taiwan circulated online in the wake of news that Mr. Trump and the Taiwan leader had spoken, underscoring the political sensitivities of the global business interests of Mr. Trump’s company.

“There have been no authorized visits to Taiwan on behalf of Trump Hotels for the purposes of development, nor are there any active conversations,” a representative of the Trump Organization said.

Last month, Taiwanese media reported remarks by Cheng Wen-tsan, the mayor of the northern Taiwanese city of Taoyuan, that representatives for the Trump Organization had visited the city to explore a possible hotel venture near the city’s international airport.

www.wsj.com...

This shouldn't even be an issue, but until Trump completely divests himself of all his real estate holdings... But you see, Trump considers himself "special." The usual rules don't apply.

I didn't think it needed comment beyond pointing out that Trump's appointment for National Security Adviser is hawkish on Iran. After bombing what's left of Syria into rubble and going after ISIS in what's left of Libya, Flynn will probably pick a fight with Iran.

If you're into national politics you need to be convinced that you are special so you can make a real difference or else why bother. That is the definition of narcissism: thinking that you are special, and implicitly that others are not, or even inferiour.

The US president needs to be a narcissist. Hence: Trump needs to be a narcissist. But one can be a narcissist and still be a decent person. Trump, alas, is not. He manipulates, lies, is a perfect fingerpointer, changes his opinions if they don't serve him and is mostly concerned with himself. Behold, a man of power.

The only way such narcissists and psychopaths can become men of power is because a significant portion of the population are like children, whom gladly follow the pied piper, really believing he will lead them to a better world. And inevitably, if after a few short years, it is proven that they were mislead again, they won't learn from it. They never have. Instead of ignoring the music they will simply follow the next loudmouth that plays the "it's not your fault, it is THEIR fault" tune.

It can't be helped, I'm afraid.

"President Trump: A Pattern Emerges"

That's funny... I didn't think he was the President until Jan 20, 2017.

How do you get a pattern out of something that doesn't exist yet?

I wanted to avoid the usual "HE WON DEAL WITH IT!" Posts. Unsuccessfully, as you can see. Actually, Trump's manipulative behavior is a life long pattern. I am pointing out specific examples that will affect his presidency, eg; the way he first seduces and then, if necessary, forces people to make exceptions for him.

I only care about what he does after Jan 20, 2017... then I will judge him based on his actions...

Not some fear of what he MIGHT do.

I will wait and see what he does.

That is what logical people would do.

He is naming his cabinet now. In addition to Wall Street and Washington insiders, it includes an Iran hawk for National Security Adviser and a General who will require a special act of Congress to authorize. These are current events.

to the posters complaining about the 7 million
I wish someone would have done something to keep my job in Tampa where it had been for over 100 years.
We were giving the state of Florida over 5 million nickles a month just in the tax on our product.... The state wanted $1.10....... my company offered to give them 5 million quarters a month...but that wasnt good enough.
And now someone else..in some other land... has the best job a machinist could ever ask for... working for a company that treated all 750 of us like we mattered.
I wish someone would have done something for us.....and I thank God that someone did something for the men and women of Carrier..... and all the other people in that area whose livelihood is tied to those families that would have suffered at the loss of those jobs

Naming his cabinet means nothing until after Jan 20, 2017.

This thread is a perfect example of fear mongering.

Your fears are based on assumptions.

So... you think he is suddenly going to yell "psyche" and go with a different batch?

This thread is a perfect example of fear mongering.

Since when is simply stating facts "fear mongering?" You want to know why I called Flynn an Iran hawk?

From a conservative perspective.

To get to a position of power you tend to have psychopathic tendencies. This is why CEOs and the likes score highly in tests of psychoticism.

But to put it plainly it has only ever been psychos that have ran the asylum....

100% accurate analysis. I hated Hillary, because she is a Sociopathic Psychotic. Trump, on the otherhand, is a Narcissistic Psychotic. Unquestionably. I guarantee we are going to see some REALLY INSANE SHIZ coming from him in the near future. Narcissistic Psychotics cannot behave normally. The closest example to Trump in modern history would have to be the Phillipine's Duerte.
