There's only one part of what you said I don't agree with, and that is the last sentence. It wasn't about Clinton being elected, at least not in the end.

It was all about everything you said before that.

This was not about "good" and "evil", it was about "evil" and "defeat" of the same. They are different. It was about awakening; it was about thorough and absolute refusal to accept that which has been obfuscated for decades, despite those who may wish to continue to accept it. It was about denial of "empire".

Some may think the evil has been vanquished, but they are oh so far from being correct. It has only nearly been exposed.

The fight has only just begun.

On day one, Trump should take them all by surprise and repeal Bill Clinton's Telecommunications Act, while offering to willingly subject himself and his Presidency to a more competitive and objective and informed media, so as to restore public confidence and integrity, and wouldn't it be funny to see Info Wars and Breitbart represented among the press pool?

Maybe that's what they are really afraid of - that Trump and Bannon might be listening to our voices and allow us to have a voice, with this distinction about "fake news" or what's real and what's not a preemptive ploy to limit the sphere of what is acceptable to talk about, or not.

Blew up in their face.

Big Media doesn't deserve to have a monopoly any more and it's hurting the whole sphere of public discourse to have a very heavily biased MSM that's owned by only three or four companies/families.

Break them up! Blow up big media and force not only a media meltdown, but a media revolution where in times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

The people themselves demand and deserve nothing less.

I guess I was just pointing to the inevitability of the defeat of evil, and perhaps why we needn't lose our good-natured sense of humor, mirth and charm in a spirit of hope, optimism and love, even in the face of the worst of the worst, confident in the power of the good to defeat evil, which as I mentioned defeats itself in the end.

"fake news"?, I think not. I see this mantra as a grand subterfuge of truth. Are there lies and falsehoods out there? Absolutely there are. However, equally there are truths, there are leads and scraps of evidence which, when investigated, lead to shattering discovery. To simply turn our collective backs on these things as "fake news" breeds a society controlled by those who feel they are entitled to define the "truth" to you. Right or left, are you willing to accept this destiny?

The "Fake" news was what was being broadcast in full power for the entire Clinton campaign, namely how she was winning so handily. They now are trying to fabricate a fake "fake news" to muddy the waters and disassociate the MSM from it and newly associate other forms of social media with the term.

Their own actions have established how fake their news really is, with the President Elect berating them publicly and naming them. This is their fight back. Anything not from them is Fake News, and anything exposing them is "The Russians".

Yah, we're the ones confused, not them. If they say it often enough they succeed in eliciting our loyalty without any physical torture. The torturer destroys the subjects 'self', giving them the authority to instill new identity, loyal to the torturer. TV news does that to us by telling us other information sources are 'fake' and repeating it until we accept that and therefore them as the source of true news.

Hilary once said "we are in a war of information and we are losing the war". They been working real hard to discredit all other sources of information ever since. This is but one aspect, like you said.

I wholeheartedly agree with huge swathes of this thread. Namely the control of the media. Information is power. Always has been and always will be. The man who tells you what to think while you eat your cereal is the most powerful in the world. The Internet has somewhat unleashed that genie from its bottle and it frightens the elite. Lack of control.

What I can't agree with is the repeating idea that Trump is somehow outside of this. That he isn't one of them. He is a billionaire member of the club whose run for office in some way serves their purpose. What exactly that is: who knows? Is it division, false hope, baiting certain groups, destabilisation, cassus belli, grounds for increased authoritarianism etc?

No matter how well rigged a game is there are only two ways to guarantee a win. Play both sides or don't play at all. The election of either of the candidates would serve their interests and align with their plans regardless of which way the public voted. The illusion of choice is usually enough to keep the people happy. Bread and circuses.

If the Pizzagate stuff is what it is reputed to be and if the Clinton Foundation stuff is as wide-ranging as it appears and the two are tightly intertwined ... Well, look at what rotten things are known about the UK with its own high ranking pedo stuff just to start.

Remember the wave of child illegals whose parents sent them across the border alone? We heard terrible stories about what could have happened to them on their way here. We heard horrible stories about the centers they were packed into once they were here. Then, they were dispersed, and after that, there were scattered news reports about how most of them were "lost" by Immigration Services. Everyone assumed they were sent to resident illegal relatives, but how many actually were?

You also have the ACORN scandal which was started by a tape with an official advising O'Keefe on how to set up a house with underage prostitutes.

These are government connected and big stories and they are potentially tangentially related to what we are discussing.
