Note to Mods: I thought about putting this in '2016 Elections', but it's really more than that. The elections are just the mechanism, this is a little different twist.

There has been an absolute TIDAL WAVE of news on both the MSM and social media since the 2016 elections. Though a quick look back in history will tell any open minded person there's nothing unusual with that. Every election cycle for the past half century has been the same way. It's a big event. However, there are a three 'events' reported lately which stand out as unusual. And when you combine the three, and look at a forth resulting event, the implications are, frankly, pretty staggering.

The 1st event was some cryptic writings of an alleged government insider on the website 4chan. The author spoke of earth shattering revelations of corruption surrounding the Clintons and the Clinton Foundation. Within days news stories started popping up all over, mostly from the MSM, out of the blue supposedly debunking many of the allegations made by this same author. Again, many of these news stories originated almost organically following the cryptic writings of said author. Taken alone, this might just be explained as crazy talk and coincidence.

Read more here

The 2nd event which took place was the Wikileaks releases. The principal focus of the Wikileaks releases initially was intended to shed light on Clinton's handling of the classified information while Sec of State. However, the Wikileaks also seemed to lend some credibility to some of the allegations made by the 4chan mystery person.

In the sequence of time, then the 2016 elections took place.

Following the elections another theme started to circulate creating the 3rd event. This would be the whole circus which has become known colloquially as "pizzagate". Prior to the elections the mystery 4chan writer also made some crazy allegations regarding deviant sexual fetishes of some of the establishment elite. Conspiracy theorists around the globe started looking more carefully at some of the information contained in the Wikileaks releases and found some rather strange and arguably disturbing messages being distributed in emails.

Also following the elections very little was heard from the (losing) Clinton camp. Really about the only clear message to come out of the Clinton camp has been..."The Russians did it".

This post isn't about events #1, 2 or 3; there are plenty of threads here on ATS already to debate merits or lack thereof on those topics. No, this is about a 4th event which followed these events.

Roughly 2.5 weeks after the elections the CEO of FaceBook, Mark Zuckerburg, went on the record with a concern and in the process coined a new viral term known as "Fake News".

Fake News

In and of itself, the notion of "fake news" begs the question of who (if anyone) has the right to determine what news is 'fake' and what news is real. The intentions of large sections of the MSM now is to brand any news which doesn't align with their respective agendas to be 'fake news'. So in this respect the whole 'fake news' concept is nothing more than a weapon of words. But there's more...

When we step back away from all these events (elections included) and take stock of the larger picture surrounding events #1, 2 and 3 it's hard to deny there's not 'something' going on which is pretty unsavory, possibly illegal and likely taking place on multiple levels. Then we add in the whole "fake news" angle.

It's almost as if someone or some group got pretty darn close to exposing the core of something truly evil, and the 'fake news' response is the only way to diffuse this potential bomb in a summary level way. Like the witch trails of the late 1600's, anyone who attempts to expose something illicit and morally unethical is branded a 'witch' (i.e. fake news) and burned at the proverbial stake (in social and MSM media).

The timing of 'fake news' is certainly curious...VERY curious, indeed.

In 1907 John Dalberg-Acton first uttered the now immortal words..."Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

Did somebody get close to exposing something so Earth shattering it may have had global consequences? The timing of the whole 'fake news' mantra certainly makes it look that way.

The funny thing is....

If Hillary had won... this wouldn't even be a discussion.

Hillary lost an impossible loss...... they have no way to explain it without admitting the obvious, so they turn to grasping straws by claiming it was the 'FAKE" news that did her in......never will they admit they just simply picked a candidate with major flaws and stayed with that candidate when the flaws became public instead of dumping her when they had the chance.

If the democrats had one single ounce of common sense, they would have dropped Clinton like a hot potato the very first time the classified email scandal broke. But they didn't..... they thought they could overcome Clintons negativity by influencing the news. That didn't work out very well.

I remember reading the 4chan post mentioned as event #1, but do you have a link to it? (edit, here: link to image of post)

I agree, very interesting timing. I feel like you're correct, we're on the precipice of something huge being unearthed and those involved are feeling the fear and doing anything they can to prevent the downfall.

Very astute observations.

What better way to diffuse potential bombshells than to get out in front of them and where they would land?

It's a blatantly obvious discrediting attempt. A poisoning of the well.

Did somebody get close to exposing something so Earth shattering it may have had global consequences?

If this were the case, one wonders what the reaction would be?

My answer is that it is as you have seen. Smokescreens, obfuscation, and inveigling of the sort that has since proceeded apace.

Here is a thread I made about those posts. It links the 4chan threads and the original thread about the poster here on ATS.

a reply to: Flyingclaydisk

That's the original thread here on ATS about that poster, but what that thread does not include are the other appearances that person made. I have included them in my thread as well as a link to the thread here in question.

George Orwell's prescient book "Nineteen-eighty-four" is not far off the mark. The next thing to be implemented is of course a comparative ministry of truth, or minitrue.

Fake news is a concept to be concerned about, and labelling news stories that doesn't conform to the norm of society as such is worrying. Are there any integrity left in the "free press"? Or a better question; has there ever been a free press?

The fake news mantra deflects blame away from their fake news. Its not them lying their ass off, its all of you.

I would add El Presidente's speech to Greece to the timing, wherein he warned them of the rise of a 'Crude Form of Nationalism' such as what is taking place in America....
USA Today: Watch: President Obama warns against nationalist impulses

Probably an edict from the suppliers of those trendy Chairman Mao pantsuits...

"You will shut down these Nationalists and their propaganda machines!! Or no more pantsuits!!"

Isn't Facebook working with them on introducing the platform to the Chinese people?
With certain filters in place to accommodate their 'Social Credit Score' system of course....

I think people are close to breaking reality, well, the reality that MSM, social media, politics and entertainment has tried to convince everybody of.

I saw a list of "fake news" sites dropped here the other day, some were most definitely fake news sites, but many were the sites where I've gotten my news is since "waking up" in 2011. These are the very sites that taught me the "up is down" concept of MSM reporting.

Now, the last 4 years have really been a tsunami of conspiracy theorist vindication, so much so that normal folk are catching on.

The kooks have been more right than wrong. The MSM has been more wrong than right.

I think it's just the next step in the plan.
Time to shut down the speech that doesn't tow the line.
I had a bit of a rant about this last night, it went something like:

It isn't just some list of 'Fake News Sites' that a Liberal SJW College Professor came up with, this is an attempt to silence any alternative media that doesn't feed you what they want you to be fed. See the game is, they flood the web with fake stuff. Much of it gets passed around as truth, but is eventually discredited. This sheds doubt on other news and stories that might actually be true. It's called 'Poisoning The Well'. The list that this snowflake came up with has many sites that are pure fakery. It also has valid sources lumped-in. Drudge Report? Oh yeah, he was told directly by a Supreme Court Justice that they would shut him down. Well yeah, maybe his website does contain factual information, but we should probably still shut him down with the rest of 'em anyway because he kind of gets people stirred-up, right???

...This also has nothing to do with the repeal of the Smith - Mundt Act.
These are the exact same propaganda tactics that we use to spread hate and discontent in other countries with the intent of a violent overthrow of the elected government. Now, they can lawfully spread the same BS here. They've been cooking this one up for quite some time now. From the Confederate Flag to BLM (and the other BLM - don't forget the Bundys and the Hammonds), and now that pesky little pipeline, this election may well have been the tipping point to finally turn America against itself. Someone's been trying really, really hard...

I have noticed the same, and wondered about the implications. I would add one more new phenomenon and that would be the sudden "alt-right" hysteria, perhaps to pre-emptively discredit anything about pizzagate as it came out...

Do you think it's possible that this is just a vile attempt to set someone up as opposed to an actual pedo ring?

No, I don't really. I don't believe something like that would be able to gain this much reactionary momentum as quickly as this has. In other words, something must have struck pretty close to the central nerve on whatever this is.

Thank you.

Me too, unfortunately. I'd really like to believe that it's not what it seems... I really REALLY don't want to believe that innocent and helpless children are being brutalized and tormented this way... but my gut -- and every fiber of my being! -- keeps telling me that it's evil and vile as it appears. Probably worse. I think I want to grasp at straws just because I can't handle the truth.

Well, I think it's more than that actually. I think it is a much broader core of deception, corruption and perversion...far greater than we may have ever imagined!

A truly horrible evil defying every rational understanding.

I'm with you and Fcd on this.

It is known that these sorts of things occur (vile behavior among those in power), human trafficking (not just for sexual purposes) takes place on a global scale and it as an 'industry' has huge amounts of dollars involved:

The ILO report, Profits and Poverty: The Economics of Forced Labour , said two thirds of the estimated total of US$ 150 billion, or US$ 99 billion, came from commercial sexual exploitation, while another US$ 51 billion resulted from forced economic exploitation, including domestic work, agriculture and other economic activities.

ILO says forced labour generates annual profits of US$ 150 billion

Keep in mind this is just profits, meaning that the costs associated with the activity is much higher.

Hundreds of billions of dollars in a secret (outside of government accountability) economy that operates on a global scale.

Thinking about this for a minute leads to the inevitable conclusion that only those with access to resources which number in these amounts and deal with governments would be involved in the activity described herein.

In other words, rich, powerful people are the only ones involved in human trafficking (for whatever purpose), not every day folk, like you and me, who live paycheck to paycheck.

What would such people do to keep their activities from becoming known?

I keep thinking of all the brouhaha over Trump's early remarks about the human smugglers from Mexico. So much effort to focus our attention on the oh-so-racist implications, while totally and completely ignoring that Trump was speaking to the horrible crimes committed by those human smugglers... including prostitution rings... and perhaps pedo rings??? All those "unaccompanied minors"...

Did Trump hit a nerve?

It's so horrid to even contemplate.
