The Constitution lets the electoral college choose the winner. They should choose Clinton.

The Bible Belt and Rust Belt - - - - picked this president over the demographic of more intelligent, higher educated, more diverse, more worldly City Dwellers.

And that right there is why you lost.

Not the bit about the Bible and Rust belts.

The bit where you called everyone who didn't vote Democrat an uneducated idiot.

Your post is essentially a microcosm of the entire Clinton campaign.

Exactly. Having a bachelors in engineering and one in computer science, former intelligence agent must put me squarely in the deplorable idiot group since I voted for Trump. Talk about bigoted morons.

.. the large cities should rule over the rest of the country, will never happen and you will learn the hard way.

Someone's a bit salty, and judgemental. Good thing for those redneck uneducated deplorables, or the intelligent, more worldly people like yourself would starve to death pretty fast.

Heck Victor it will be people like Anne that think they can come and take the goods from those redneck uneducated deplorables. Anyone care about how that works out for them? I bet it ain't gona be pretty.

So I see the biggest liar on ATS continues but this time, instead of just lying he is suggesting that the will of the people should be ignored, that the established voting process be ignored and the individual who won be ignored because he doesn't like it and his ass is burning because his choice lost.

I think that pretty much sums it up. A liar who is also a cry baby.

Yes, I think they need this...

Seems to me when the cold hard truth arrives, they, like trees in autumn, show their TRUE colors. The more we see and hear these statements, the more it proves how twisted and divisive the democratic party has become these last 30 years.

My father, a very STAUNCH democrat, would have either not voted or voted 3rd party for the first time in his life in this election. I am just glad he was spared this experience of the "modern" democratic party.

Reading this thread has been entertaining. No matter how many times people explain the EC, and in numerous and simple ways, people just dont get it, or dont want to get it.

Point is, you all may not like the system, but it IS the system right now......so STOP BITCHING about it as pertaining to THIS ELECTION and focus on getting legislation to change it for next time. I hope it doesnt change for the same reasons as numerous other posters have said in this thread, but if it is changed LEGALLY, then I will abide it.

The American people voted for Trump! Lackeys, traitors, and sychophants voted for others.

The problem is, Trump won the popular vote if we go all the way with this. A recount would suggest recounting EVERYTHING, which would reveal how many "Dead People" and "Illegals" voted. Trump would win by an even greater margin.

So no, leave it be, let Clinton walk away with what she got, because I guarantee you if it goes all the way, she'll have even less.

If you don't like the way American government works, there are plenty of socialist, straight democracies, or other countries you can move to.

I'll tell you what. I'll change the American system to be more representative and to form a more perfect union and you can be the one who leaves. Sound fair?

lol...will never happen no matter where it goes. Besides, I am getting old enough that it is going to be up to the young where they take the country. I just hope they understand were socialism usually ends up going. As in Greece, Venezuela, etc. Hell, even Russia warned us not to go socialist because it doesn't work. Bernie support shows us the communist plan to infiltrate the education system has worked flawlessly.

Yep, Trump wins if you add in the fake news. Otherwise, if you stick to legit sources, Hillary won by 2.1 million votes and counting. Don't worry I'm sure you can find a twitter account to challenge that.

You mean legit sources like CNN, right?, you know in US public school they teach children about our system of government including the preamble of the constitution in 4th grade that means if you went to schools in the US.

That is how you learn that the popular vote means crap in a Republic.

Trust me is been many that has been trying to explain how it works in America but I guess when people do not attend school in the US they do not get to understand how America works as a Republic.

So, if we do a count of the posts in this thread, those for and against the popular vote as the arbiter of presidency, and it is found that you did not get the "popular vote", will you concede that you lost your argument?

Apparently you and many others on ATS are not aware that the Electors can actually vote for whichever candidate they want. If any of them wants to vote for Hillary, they can. That's a fact. If you really don't understand that, I suggest you educate yourself.

And you do not understand that not ALL of them have that option. Some states have regulations in place to prevent them voting in a manner that does not reflect the vote of the state residents.

They ALL have that option. For some there is a minor fine... just a few hundred bucks or a thousand. Stop spreading misinformation. They ALL have the constitutional right to vote different from their state.

Oh, so instead of just a few densely populated areas telling people who voted for Trump what to do ... we should let the rest of the world do it?

Which part do you think should tell us how to live? Maybe the Middle East ought to tell us about gay rights.

Perhaps Africa ought to advise us on inter-tribal conflict resolution when it comes to getting different diversity groups getting along better.

I think India ought to advise us on how to handle superstition the possibility of social castes.

Apparently you don't understand that each state has it's own electors set for EACH party. That means in California with 55 electoral votes, there are 110 electors. 55 Democrat, and 55 Republican. The party that wins the majority vote in the STATE wins the right to that state's electoral votes. So of the 110 electors in Cali, only 55 will get to vote, the DNC's 55 electors.

You clearly have no clue how the system works. Instead of ranting and raving about 2/120+ million votes, you should try educating yourself on the system. Obviously Hillary didn't properly, and that's why she lost.

You need to read on how the electoral voters vote, no where in America history they have become dissenters.

And the majority of states have their own rules when it comes to the way the electoral vote, they have contracts that they sign with the state in order to preserve integrity of vote.

And yes is been electoral voters in history that have abstain from voting at all.

Trump will be you next president and that is the way is going to be.
