Extremely common phenomenon. Basic ice crystal rings. You see them around the moon, sun, anything that produces bright light or contrasts, especially when the air is freezing either at ground level or high altitude. Makes for awesome pictures. Moon rings/bows/halo, Sun rings/bows/halo.

No way. If it's Scottish and it's white, no way it's straight. Straight would be standard red and black tartan, you know? With a black pom-pom hanging off the top. White is....fru-fru by scottish rainbow standards. I rather like it personally, but let's be honest. A white rainbow is for fairies!
