I sincerely care here and figured someone needed to ask, seeing as ATS should be one big (if dysfunctional) family: have YOU called this suicide hotline yourself?

I hope you haven't, this isn't a jab, and hope better times come soon to us all.

Trump won, I personally support him, and hope we can all work together going forward.

You could never know unless you were inside of their mind. Anything else is a baseless guess.

Just. Stop.

It's not your intention, but you are actually doing a great disservice to people with genuine mental health issues by equating people like those mentioned in the OP with them. There is so much to write and explain, but I really do feel it will fall on deaf ears if I do, so what's the point?

I am not. I am working with an article with statistics from the experts. But you feel you are somehow more informed than they.

You and Antedilluvian should set up your own counselling website for all your snowflake friends - then you can all do group hugs and pray to a potrait of Bill and Hillary.

You did author a thread called "we have entered idiocary" after all; funny how you thought you were immune.

Yes, and there's an entire population of equal numbers that feel the exact opposite way you do.

You are selfish, it's quite obvious.

60 million agree with you, 60 million do not.

Get over it.

Pretty sure he's referring to the "reason" for them contemplating suicide.
That IS hilariously pathetic.

No reason that causes suicidal thoughts is hilariously pathetic.

It is however complete lack of human empathy that can cause statements like yours.

It's conversations like these in which people voted for Trump, at least partly.

They learned their fathers had to join the draft and go off to war at age 18, and now people need safe places because of elections and words that were said.

Grow up.

You are trivializing this. Again, callers were from all age groups.

The reason all of these socialist democrat liberals are crying their eyes out is because their utopian dream of kumbiyah came crashing down with a thud. These people are very tolerant of just about everyone who thinks like them, but they cannot tolerate anyone who disagrees with them. In all it is a lie that they live, and so with that the media fed them the biggest pile of bull pucky in false polls, Hillary praise, and pundantry elitism. Their heads began to fill with air and they ate it all up like candy. So now they are crying and they're angry.

Consider the other side now in 08 and in 2012 when what happened to them happened the other side. Yes, there were tears. There was angst, and there was horror. But no one was burning the country down and desecrating flags. But then no one tried to put a lie over on any of us either as they did on those supporting Hillary. It looked as real as any movie studio could make it; a Hillary landslide was coming and it was coming big. And then the shock came in.

If there is blame to be had for the pain of your loss, blame the media for it's part, and blame the Hillary campaign for lying to you. Don't blame Trump or Trump followers because they have every right to celebrate their victory as you did in 08 and in 2012. Next time, don't believe everything you hear. We didn't.

I don't care what age group they are from. They still needed help long ago if this is putting them over the age.

If this IS the reason, they need to learn how to take one on the chin and move forward.

Polls are not the same as counting incoming phone calls.

Actually, people didn't go Fthemselves. They protested because that's the best way to stop him from implementing his campaign promises. If he tries to build the wall then we will see even more protests. He will never be able to do much while people are this riled up. If he tries, Reps will fear reelection and his brand will become Toxic. His hotels are already doing a lot worse. By the end of his 4 year term, he'll be so toxic his brand might go bankrupt.

His supporters are not the people that can afford his hotels. The demo his brand caters to voted for Hillary. He likely didn't think about all that could go wrong when he ran for president because he didn't think he could win.

You can't tell people with thoughts of suicide to 'take one on the chin' and expect that to work.
