Perfect candidate for someone who would call the suicide prevention hotline over an election.

For crying out loud they need to grow a pair and stop whining. You don't always get your way it's not the end of the damn world. Being a veteran this makes me ponder how the hell the military manages to fill their ranks with capable soldiers nowadays.

It is not a particular age group. It is backwards thinking to minimize deep depression and suicidal thoughts as 'whining'.

What rhetoric are you referring to specifically.

I do so hope no one you care about is deeply depressed. You would push them over the edge.

been dealing with depressed people my whole life, my younger brother.(actully he is my cousin) was adopted by my mother because his mother is a Schizophrenic Bipolar Manic Depressive. many on her side of the family are that way. but i tell you what, if they listen to their doctors and do what they are told they can and will do fine.

these people your talking about aren't anything but special snowflakes or just plain sorry a@@es.

People who are calling suicide prevention and crisis lines because they have become mentally unhinged due to the results of an election outcome should be fined for wasting the time and resources of services that are available. What a massive insult and gross inconvenience to the genuine cases of people needing these types of services.

I have noted it before. Hateful things said about women, the disabled, minorities, at risk groups... even POWs. I think I may be leaving some out.

The fact that they had such awful thoughts that led them to call a crisis line and speak to a stranger for help, as they might end their own life is significant. Even if you feel the reason does not rise to the occasion.

I don't care how old/young they are they need to learn one thing real frickin quick. The world is not a nice place, people are going to say and do mean things, it's a fact of life and isn't going to change any time soon. You suck it up and move on. Society has become way to soft.

Exactly, 'progressive' first world problems.

Take everyone who called because of the results of the election and give them a safe place on a plane.

Fly to Syria and drop them off for a week or two.

I bet the results of an American election would be seen in a little better context in the future.

People with deep depression with and without suicidal thoughts have an actual psychological problem, the same as those in your family. As I said to Ketsuko, it does not mean it isn't real since you do not believe the reason is important enough.

If one has suicidal thoughts, they are supposed to call so they do not kill themselves. No matter the reason, and you want them fined? The National Director encourages that they call no matter what may have set off these feelings.

I see. Because one does not live in a war zone means they can't have real thoughts of suicide or deep depression. I guess that means ALL people with this problem in the US are faking it then. Sure, why not?

If one feels in danger they are supposed to call 911, however, they can end up with a fine for misusing police services.

If anyone seriously is feeling suicidal over a presidential election, they need more help than a suicide line could ever provide.

All people are different. Just because you find the reason frivolous, doesn't mean it is.
