Kimberly Kersey told Florida Today that she plans to carry a gun while taking her sons around her Palm Bay neighborhood after two men were arrested last week for allegedly threatening people while dressed as clowns.

“I'll be carrying for sure, I'm not leaving to chance,” she said. “I'm terrified of clowns already and if one messes with me or my kids it'll be to the hospital or morgue they go.”

Pam Metz, of Titusville, said she plans to carry around a baseball bat on Halloween because she doesn’t have a gun.

Officials: 3 men wearing clown masks attack Rhode Island woman.

Boy arrested after stabbing teen in clown mask in Germany.

Patrols will be increased across the country as it is standard for Halloween and not impacted by the wave of clown sightings. Sheriff Wayne Ivey noted that it’s a second-degree misdemeanor to conceal your identity with the intent to intimidate or harass anyone while “being upon any lane, walk, alley, street, road, highway, or other public way.”

Ivey added that deputies are looking out for any foul play.

Brevard County authorities say clown fears could endanger someone who is dressing up as a clown as a joke. Palm Bay Police Lt. Mike Banish fears that someone dressing like a clown could end up getting seriously injured.

“The problem is that someone dressed like a clown could scare someone and there’s a possibility, a possibility you could end up with someone getting shot,” Bandish said. “A person could think that they’re about to get robbed."

Today is Halloween.

For those who plan going Trick or Treat might want to think about NOT dressing up as a killer clown. You might get shot and not only in Florida.

Killer clown masks are forbidden to wear in Germany.

Never mind holidays, if you can carry you CERTAINLY should! For your own protection and for those who choose not to.

Believe me, sh# goes sideways, they'll be thanking you in the end regardless of 2A ideologies.

So how many innocents are going to be killed today because some pu**y has to carry a gun and use it because he's afraid of the boogeyman at night. Smh.

Let's just cancel Halloween all together because it seems people can't handle scary costumes anymore. While we're at it let's ban scary movies and video games because the cowards can't handle them.

o.O

All this says to me beyond the obvious "people are knee-jerk idiots", is that if someone feels the need to pack anything in their neighborhood, it's either a s# neighborhood to begin with (BTDT, so I empathize to a point) or highlighting that people don't bother to get to know their neighbors anymore if they default to "other people detected, activate threat mode". Which I find stupid, really. I've known all of mine at every address I've ever had, even as a kid. I can't imagine not knowing your neighbors at least casually.

We're going to have fun walking around our neighborhood tonight conversing with neighbors. Without the need for weapons. Everybody else can go cower in a corner, it can double as a grown-up time-out anyway.

The thing is, there will be people out there wearing a clown costume, hoping to play on of the fear of clowns. They'll dress up and go out, hoping to scare someone and then when it goes bad, the anti gun folks will blame the shooter.
People doing stupid sh** that they know people are afraid of, deserve what happens.

And why wouldn't it be the shooters fault? Isn't the point of Halloween to scare people?

Let me guess you're one of those people that brings their kids out solely for a fashion show and then takes all of their candy in the end.

How many times has someone attacked you with a knife? How many times have you had your life in danger? Just curious, because you seem to think those of us who carry and actually have been in life or death situations are "pu**ies" for wanting to stay alive.

Each year, at this time of year the veil (spiritual barrier) between this physical world and the dark world is at its thinnest.

If this is the final day where the veil gets terminated, then a pistol with lead bullets isn't going to do anything against the real demons that will be following those little innocent children.

I guess a Killer Klowns from Outer Space viewing & costume party would be inadvisable with today's wuss-asses.

I served two tours in Afghanistan.

Do you still want me to answer that question?

I wish I did not have to travel today, I would dispense candy dressed as a clown. All the candy I saved from the wussies not brave enough to get it could be used next year. I may never have to buy candy again.

Depends on whether or not someone thought you were being nefarious. Bullet holes aren't conducive to financial savings.

Yeah, "fashion show". You have no idea what you're talking about. My kids are older now, but when we did go out, they were witches, vampires, a mummy, a fairy....and not one store bought costume. We had the most fun making the costumes.
And no, they kept the candy, although I didn't let them eat it all in one day.

You're obviously the kind of person who turns everything into personal attacks.

Yes. "serving 2 tours" does not mean you were in combat.

ETA - Thank you for your service to our country.

I've seen more than my fair share. I can tell you that some kids in a clown costume aren't the ones you should be worrying about.

Indeed you may! But in the event of any unwanted aeration, remember to plug any Vampire Juice leaks with Smarties rolls and carry on

Sound advice. This could be better than when I dressed as Dexter last year and 'accidently' stuck myself with the 'prop' hypodermic I had.

I was never talking about KIDS in a clown costume. Also, I'd actually be very interested in who you think I should be worried about. Seriously, it's an honest question.
