The FBI is an investigating agency and has no right or obligation to make running commentaries on investigations to a partisan congress during an election

So I don't have the right to know when elected leaders disregard law, protocol, and handle national security with Incompetence?

I do have that right as I (we) are their employers.

Edit: it is the job of the FBI to investigate, get over it. He did and has and we have the right to know.

Edit again, FOIA, that is all.

It’s an investigation unless you want to convict her on the partisan whims of Trump followers not the truth.

The policy of the FBI and the Justice Department IS TO NOT comment on ongoing investigations. Comey deliberately disavowed that policy.

Our justice system doesn’t work by arm chair political hacks…I guess if it was turned around you wouldn’t want your precious Trump treated as Clinton was treated then he'd be yelling like a hyena--It’s a fix.

Liberals didnt complain about him sidestepping his authority to recommend no prosecution or him refusing to send his evidence to a grand jury to decide. Now those same people are up in arms.

Is he a hero or a hack? Make up your minds.

I don't support Trump, and yes I would want the law to be abided.

When a politician thinks they are above the law it engages me.

I was mad when Bush and Cheney deleted their emails too. I am not partisan.

Hillary destroyed subpoenaed evidence so excuse me for being glad the FBI won't let her slide without at least inconveniencing her. What she did was blatant circumventing laws and then blatantly breaking them.

It's ok for that "investigative" agency to decide on prosecution or not, while testifying to that same partisan Congress, before a grand jury could make a decision though right?

Cake?

Comey’s job as head of the FBI, an investigative agency was to recommend

Loretta Lynn sidestepped her authority so it wouldn’t be a partisan choice.

She gave it to Comey to decide so it wouldn't seem a partisan democratic choice of Obamas Justice department.

But that's not his job to inform congressional committees about inner ongoing investigations.

You don’t even know the facts

YES ,YES it indeed it did...

Yes, yes it indeed it did....what?

That particular email was from 2009. It was classified in October of 2015. It was declassified on 8/26/16.

It was not classified at the time it was sent. Unless you expect Hillary and her Aides to have precognitive abilities regarding what will be deemed "classified" years after it was sent, I'm not sure what you are trying to say.

The Justice department decides that!

The FBI is a police agency, police agencies DONT DECIDE on who is prosecuted---they only recommend after they investigate

Here Loretta Lynn gave that choice to Comey when she was caught talking to Bill Clinton, so the decision wouldn't look partisan

A Grand Jury makes those decisions. Not the head of the DOJ or Comey. Where is the grand jury decision? Oh yeah....

Exactly what is skewed?

I’m only telling the facts

Loretta Lynn, as AG, after she was caught talking to Bill Clinton decided to let Comie’s recommendation decide.

Usually the FBI recommends and the Justice department decides.

He decided NOT to recommend a prosecution. That’s all he should have said. Not make any running commentary on the case.

In this instance he felt, since he had already told the congress the investigation was complete, he had an obligation to tell them of this present email hunt that it may have bearing on the email case.

HE DIDN’T HAVE TO TELL THEM A DAM THING!....And in the middle or end of a very nasty and partisan election!

ITS NOT WHAT THEY USUALLY DO!

People are busy going around blaming Weiner for this…that's BS.

Weiner has no responsibility here other than that sex mess. They can’t or shouldn’t drag him into this

This is a Comey thing

I agree. It's not ever what they do. They send evidence for a grand jury to decide.

We both agree

As voters we have a right to know she is under investigation again. I'm sorry that doesn't fit your agenda but I like to know all the facts.

He said he was complete because he found no intent. But this new batch is pertinent to the case which can be opened again as it was never at trial.

He won't however release evidence until the new investigation is over most likely.

Trump talked about rigged election.

Comey just rigged the election in his favor.

Trump is going around squealing like a pig in delight.

If people don’t see his true nature them whatever he as president will wrought is deserving

Standard for Trump. He's the embodiment of everything negative he accuses others of doing. Calls people sex offenders, and he's one himself. Says people rig the election, and he's the one rigging. So on and so forth.

That said, I'll wait to let this shake out over the next couple days. If there's something real here I have zero sympathy for Hillary. If it's just a bunch of BS Comey drummed up, I might vote Hillary out of spite.

Fine. But the Justice departments usual methods preclude highly political statements and acts 60 days before an election let alone 11!

Also, the FBI NEVER really closes an investigation normally in a formal sense.

When they do they do it quietly NOT a loud politically charged letter in the midst of an election.

Answer this; if they did similar to Trump, go out of their way to do things very different, how would you feel then?

Trump would raise hell yelling FIX...FIX...FIX
