So if NATO is offering some Eastern European countries some level of safety against being occupied (again) by Russia, then that is this so called Anglo American alliance at fault, and not Russia for both its historic and current record for occupying at gunpoint? I am not surprised, Spain clamed neutrality and assistanced Germany during WW 2 and denied fly over rights to the US during the Libya bombing rade in 1986, code-named Operation El Dorado Canyon. The extended flight may have been partly responsible for the loss of a flight crew.

The deployment was announced by Cameron back in July at the NATO summit.

The deployment doesn't start until May 2017, will be in Romania and will last a maximum of four months (likely two).

The only reason it was announced yesterday/today is Michael Fallon has been at the NATO meeting in Brussels and was asked for a statement.

It's common practice and as usual the facts have little if anythng to do with overhyped media spin. Less than 1000 extra personell have been announced for deployment in the entirety of Eastern Europe - and deployments are all at different times.

Less than one troop per 100 square miles does not an army make.

The argument against Spain allowing Russian ships to receive technical support and assistance in their waters is absolutely ludicrous, and goes against the narrative of the War on Terror entirely. There is little evidence that could be provided that would be of greater weight than this, that the War on Terror is a lie. If the EU, NATO, and the US and UK were interested in the destruction of I.S. and other groups at all, they would allow the Russians to bloody well get on with it, and thank them over a glass of something strong and a spot of lunch, for taking the ball and running with it.

The only reason this is all being blown up the way it has been, is because IS are actually proxies of the west, along with most of the anti-Assad forces in Syria, which is largely ignored by the press, despite the fact that weapons, armour, ammunition and other supplies, funding, and training for IS have all come from the same places that the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden got theirs. CIA mostly, smattering of SAS for operations training.

Exactly. These are sovereign countries that were once brutalized by the USSR simply asking for assistance. Should we take away counties rights to self-defense and self-determination simply because we do not want to offend Putin?
