Thank You Sweet Star. I'm not sure whether to keep this on or not yet.

I'm trying to think of a story to write for the contest I found.

Oh, awesome! I have been reading through the entries, but won't vote until the end. You can also write a story line in here about something or join Syx and I on our adventure. I joined up with him for now. It will be very interesting to see what you pic for your next avatar, though I do love the one you have.

Some butterfly pics for you.

Oh, we have a thread on avatars where folks can help you. Ask Gordi if you need any help to create one, unless you find something special on your own.

(I've really got to get my writing into gear! Here's hoping I can get them back to the Shed by Christmas! Perhaps New Years Eve at the latest!!)

The Last Itty Bitty Bit
Darien shrugged nonchalantly, that infuriating grin still plastered upon his face.

“I’m certain that all pieces will complete our puzzle soon enough.”

He offered her his hand, a mischievous glint in his eye, and sighing to herself, Kaelci weaved her fingers about his and they made their way to the chamber’s edge. The red fires flickered about the edges, shuddering at their approach, recoiling as Kaelci reached towards them and bade them separate to allow their passage.

The way was open once more.

Today’s Itty Bitty Bit!
The red flames flickered along the hallway. Although remaining afraid of Kaelci’s presence and no longer malevolent, the flames seemed to have gained a curiosity in regards to these Magisters that walked their halls, and they crackled about Kaelci and Darien as the pair traversed through the intricately winding pathways of this strange darkened structure of the past.

They strode along the assorted passageways, peering into long emptied rooms, the ethereal auras of those long-lost intermingling with their own living auras as they passed by, Kaelci blissfully unaware of the ghosts that threaded themselves about her aura, joining the “friend” that had already made itself known in that chamber prior.

Flickering gently, the red flames that followed them suddenly began to sway in rhythm to a mystical melody that had started to dance about the still atmosphere, a sweet sound that contrasted harshly with the evident darkness and dismay, a twittering tune that hinted at wonders unbeknownst, and Kaelci, listening keenly, decided to follow this tune in an attempt to discover from whence it came.

She did not believe that this magical music led towards Sita, and though resigned to the fact that she would be facing her mentor and old friend once more… she felt that this enchanting music was enticing her for a reason, and stubbornly, she would follow her instincts.

With Darien ever by her side, she observed him from the corner of her eye; the Magister casually striding through the halls as easily as though he had been there before, a strange peace having come over him, having washed away the darkened glares he had harboured mere minutes ago, as he appeared to have reached a decision within himself. She was curious at his unusual demeanour but knew better than to say anything. He would only beat about the bush, as always.

The tantalising tune grew louder and louder as they navigated the winding halls, seeming to reach its peak as they at last stood in another chamber. Kaelci cringed inwardly as the shrill sounds reverberated about her, pierced her ears, pierced her mind, and she focussed on remaining calm and centred.

Steady breaths in and steady breaths out, the music soon dulled and she could gaze about this new chamber with an unburdened mind, and softly, she gasped in amazement as she saw white and silver baubles decorating the fiery walls of red. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of these glittering spheres danced within the light of the red fires. No other décor was evident, only a small ornate chest of silver that sat at the back of the room.

Curiosity and wonder abound, Kaelci stepped into the chamber and towards the fine chest.

Our underground reservoirs are dangerously depleted and our lakes are drying out in droves.

Hm, sounds bad indeed. Where is this going on?

I know how that feels. I've started writing a story but it just came out all wrong, I've lost the inspiration. To get inspiration I need time, and time is what I have less these days. Plus my computer is acting up, making writing rather hard to do in the first place.

Cool contest... I hope you guys have fun!

I won't be participating though... I have a hard time writing Christmas stuff without making it cheesy as a cake (a cheesecake, to be precise).

Good morning Shedigans! It’s Friday!!!!!! I’m slowly waking up. Went back through employee health this morning and they gave me a decadron shot so even if the coffee doesn’t work the steroids should kick in soon. Yeah, a story to read with my morning coffee!!! OK guys, I will be back later. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

No, not a weather wizard.

It's more as if my mind is somehow coupled with atmospheric pressure. I don't have any rational explanation about it, just feelings.

My childhood years were pretty lonely. So I would often look up at the sky, like, for hours. I would fall in a half-sleep as I would watch the clouds roll by the blue sky, dance on the air currents. I couldn't see the ground (the windows were too high), so it really gave me the constant impression that I was actually up there, physically. I think that my soul eventually somehow soared up there, entangling with the sky I could see. As time went by, a tiny fraction of weather simply became an extension of my mind's state. Weather is still subject to mother Nature's chaos, but somehow a part of it isn't anymore, and is coupled to a mind. I know, it doesn't make any sense.

In the course of one of my duties at Marine Rescue , we gather weather data for the BOM.

As we are always monitoring conditions on the water, it does indeed become a focus of your daily observations ...

Hm. Have you, by any chance, ever observed instances where weather seemed less random over more populated areas (excluding artificial weather mod interventions, such as cloudseeding, of course)?

Swanne, you remind me so much of my brother that has passed on. He lived for the clouds and music! He was autistic and didn't form relationships well. But the clouds were always there for him. He walked through life with a camera always trying to catch and share with others what he was able to see. Here is a poem I wrote.
