You are not supposed to stand in a polling place and just watch, unless you work for the Board of Elections. You are supposed to vote and leave.

There are also rules about campaigning, protesting or posting signs within so many feet of a polling place, varying by state.

And it's kind of dumb.

What are they actually going to watch and how would they spot "fraud"????

Trump just tells them "go watch your polling places"...and they all say "OK"...but they have no idea what they will actually be watching for.

True. What it actually says is :

For example, actions of persons designed to interrupt or intimidate voters at polling places by questioning or challenging them, or by photographing or videotaping them, under the pretext that these are actions to uncover illegal voting may violate federal voting rights law.

It is not a new thing. Breitbart trying to make it sound like something it isn't.

Funny how liberals demand the Police wear cameras to assure they are following the laws. But the same liberals wouldn't invite cameras to assure voters are following the laws. Maybe it is a sign of which laws the left care about...those that protect us seem to be the victims.

Hey DHS ----- This looks suspicious .....

"Security" patrols stationed at polling places in Philly

yeah they dont want anyone to remember that crap

I still don't see how that was any different than white people showing up in white hoods carrying crosses. Well...except that it was allowed by a black DOJ. Hmmm...seeing a pattern here?

What does a poll watcher do? Watch people come and go. See if a person shows up twice?
They have no right to ask for ID or to even see what their name is when they present themselves to the registrar.
So what exactly do poll watchers do or what is trump asking folks to do?

That is actually a GREAT question. I'm assuming they could report to the polling workers or the party's officials...or the news. But in the end, if we had FREE voter IDs this wouldn't be needed. Your name and number would be recorded when you vote and any duplication wouldn't be counted. But the left doesn't want that. I can only think of one reason why.

Hmm.. allow the general populace to police an event with heated emotions and veeery strong opinions? I can't see what could possibly go wrong!

What gives? You actually made a thread about something other than war with Russia, I'm impressed.

Roger Stone (Dirty Tricks expert and Trump advisor) actually set up a website for Trump Supporters to print out official looking "Poll Watcher" badges so that voters might confuse them for officials while they asked them questions and who they voted for etc.

Poll watchers are completely legal in PA:
Poll Worker Training

OFFICIAL Poll Watchers are legal EVERYWHERE....

Which beg's the question as to what Trump has in mind with his vigilante force of pro-trump "poll watchers".

Apples and oranges.

Police are public servants, paid by tax dollars, entrusted to protect its citizenry, who are brought into frequent conflict as a matter of course with said citizenry, and body cams could be made "part of the job" so as to protect those involved.

Voters are private citizens exercising a constitutional right.
