First Alaska woman charged with possessing child pornography gets no jail time

Holy freakin' double standards, Batman.

A former Alaska woman who was sexually abused by her paternal grandfather and then, as an adult, downloaded and traded videos of child exploitation has avoided any jail.

Brittany Alexandra Robinson, 25 was the first woman in Alaska to be charged with possessing and distributing child pornography, according to Anchorage police.

A former day care worker at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Robinson received a prison-free sentence on Thursday. Superior Court Judge Kevin M. Saxby agreed with Robinson’s public defender that three years in prison, with three suspended, and five years of probation was appropriate.

I really don't care what her background is, the simple blatant fact is she walked away with a 3 years' suspended prison time, and ultimately, merely probation after not just possessing but distributing CP shows a gross divide between how male and female offenders are treated judicially. This piece of crap should be doing many, many years of hard time like anyone else would be, not walking free. Failure of justice here, IMO

Let's all just say eff it & essentially mollycoddle female offenders, shall we?

Women walk away from a lot of crimes they should be doing time for, or more of it (female teachers banging underage boys being a good example here compared to the reverse)
It might as well be called the Vagina Privilege, women tend to receive much softer punishments than men do for the exact same crimes, if they're punished at all.

Even though she realizes her fault, she still needs to serve time..
She did share content which she knew was illegal.. So her intention was ( no idea ), i would sentence her to a minimum of 2 years and 5 years probation, and the child taken away.

My point is maybe that, when we grew up, or when boys became teens... Banging the teacher was a fantasy.. Teenage girls, probably had different ideals and fantasies..

It's based on personal anecdotes, but I'd say the teacher fantasy is pretty even between the two, along with the horniness level of both genders. That fantasy was common for us girls growing up in the 90's, common for my sister-in-law & female classmates growing up in the 80's, and neither decade of teens were exactly chaste. To say or imply that girls are sexually oblivious and therefore more vulnerable is actually rather oblivious itself, and insinuates that victimization is worse if committed by a male because poor fragile little girls.

One of the most interesting aspects about humanity is when you come across a human who is taught what is wrong and what is right but have no clue why.. Society calls them children and you can find them in a lot of places.. The problem is when these children are trying to have a discussion with an adult.. Their childish tendencies, ideals and morals shines even brighter.. Their naive world seems more stupid by the minute..
So as an adult i always say, smile while you are still a child.. Cause the real world will crush you..

You didn't think this one through, did you? It's child porn, how is it not a product OF molestation at minimum? Deliberate viewing & seeking of CP simply furthers the underground demand for it, thus child sexual abuse continues.
