It was Ecuador themselves, and there are many reports that it was due to Secretary of State Kerry who has been leaning on Ecuador to do so.

We can confirm Ecuador cut off Assange's internet access Saturday, 5pm GMT, shortly after publication of Clinton's Goldman Sachs speechs.

Very interesting. As most of those comments state, if there is nothing to see....why go to those lengths?

Wikileaks just announced that it was John Kerry who pressured Ecuador to silence Assange by cutting off his Internet access.

This would explain why "JOHN KERRY" was file #1 in the series of Hashes Assange released.

They're basically UK's State Department. Kerry was there on the day Assange got his Internet cut:

OK, does anybody seriously believe that negotiations with FARC are the real reason Kerry had Ecuador cut Assange's internet access? Especially given the ongoing Wikileaks dumps against the Dems? Is that seriously the best excuse they could come up with?

I think that the US and UK are testing public reaction. I predict that his internet service will return in a few days.

If it was a public reaction test the MSN would have more out on it by now. If they wanted to test response there are less risky ways of doing it.

Seems like they thought they had him nail but didn't figure on the dead mans switch in place. Now they're playing clean up.

Betting they thought if they talked the embassy in to cutting his internet they'd have him dealt with or at least under control enough he couldn't do any further damage.

What I find interesting is the timing of it. This seems like it would have been an option for a while, a risky one but an option. But he touched on something enough that they pulled the trigger.

Now they have to deal with the fact that Wikileak wasn't a one person show, sure he was a figure head. But a boat can still sail without a mermaid on the bow.

You mean right after the debate? To me this reeks of attempting to squash anymore leaks prior to the debate.

It was confirmed just 2 hours ago that Ecuador is indeed responsible for cutting Assange's Internet as they felt he was impacting the US Election process and as a country they can't be a part of that.

I'm not so sure that cutting Julians connection will halt any further leaks. There is much more to Wikileaks than just Assange. Wikileaks may have also made a deal in order to take a bit of heat off of Ecuador. Part 11 of the podesta emails came after his connection was cut off, was it not?
