Hawker P.1154, best plane that never flew, I'm still waiting for somebody to realise that the F-35-B isn't going to replace most of the functionality of the harrier, let alone improve on it, and revive the old 1154 design in composite form

this one isn't really a concept as she had reached prototype stage when the decision to discontinue production was passed. so without further ado, i present to you one of aviation's greatest "should have been's"; the TSR.2

Alas, only in Bristol's dreams. The only accolade earned by the 188 was when, at the Annual test pilots dinner in 1962, its pilot was voted 'man most likely to eject in the next 12 months'

Saw a design sketch of an XB-70 used to launch a piggie back X-15 into orbit, based on the same research that lets one launch a drone from a SR-71. Apparently, would have allowed the X-15 to reach even higher speeds...

anyway, it was a cool picture.
