Avro Arrow... I put it in concept only because of the horrible things that were done to the program.. *years* ahead of its time:

I don't think there will be many civil concepts posted so with this in mind how about this serious 1970 project for a VTOL airliner in the 737 & A320 class!

Hypersoar definately hypersoar.
I mean come on a hyper mach sub orbital (or is the concept orbital?) bomber that can hit anytarget in the world in 3-4 hours.
How cool is that?

The sexiness that is the X-29:

I still completely fail to understand why the Air Force would not want a FSW fighter. The performance of the X-29 was amazing, and there weren't any major problems in the program. Why would you NOT want higher maneuverability, better supersonic performance, and better L/D ratios?

I can explain that in three words. Too-Much-Money

I would have to say that the YF-23 Black Widow be my favorite concept aircraft.

Just imagine what those birds could do with some TVC's! yeah definitly love that plane...

I also really like the SCALED ARES

I also would go with the X-43C, the program had great potential and they cau the funding before they even had finished the A versions.

As for comercial...the Boeing Sonic Cruiser.

Wow thats a cool plane kinda reminds me of the F-117, what was it's role?

That was a fictional design much in the same vein as the Testors 'F-19'. It was created to give the F-19 model a stealthy adversery and was given the name MiG 37B 'Ferret'.

It was meant to be a ground attack aircraft and the most remarkable thing to me is the fact that it follows very closely the aerodynamic layout of the YF-23. The only thing is this model kit came out before even the F-117 was known about so how did they manage that? Lucky Guess?

Noting how almost all the designs in pictures above are lifting body aircraft, why not place the original Burnelli design in perspective. It was originally suppressed because it had low takeoff and landing speeds, as well as greater lifting capacity. Since when do the economic powers want to build half as many airplanes anyway?

Anything forward swept rocks my world.

X-29 and S-37 all the way. Perhaps the YF-23 as well, but that never really struck too much of a cord with me. That supposed MiG up top looks pretty cool, too.
