It's all down hill from here as they say. I'm happy to be along for the ride at this point. Given my personal research, ATS will have a good 12 hours on the rest of the world for information. Should give me enough time to make a decision.

Oh yeah, it's a pretty sure thing that Hillary will win. I'm not saying if that is good or bad because I am not getting involved for many reasons. I think ATS will go on the same when the elections are over, at least I hope so... I am also discouraged at the threads lately but I am compelled to keep coming back. I don't understand it, I am like a crack addict, the more I try to stay away the more I keep coming back hoping for a different outcome.

Admittedly the political threads need looked at. But it's Laborious, monotonous and I as well can't wait for U.S. politics to be over. It's been both stressful and childish.

It's so overwhelming, non of the ATS origionals that brought me here are here. They all jumped ship. When was the last time even the site owners started a thread.

The Rudeness supercedes T&C's.
Spambots or live spammers insist on zika.

It's evident people are paid to get in here and troll, derail threads...

I just would like to go back to the fringe of things. Provided an intelligent conversation gets us facts and more questions of those facts.

I will wait as patiently as i must. I do still love it here.

It's apparent to me that fringe subjects have taken back seat to political bickering. It's a natural form of tribalism
with the fragmentation of American culture. Look around, bikers, goths, nerds, jocks, survivalists, otaku, ravers, junkies, pencil neck geeks, pagans, rockers, rappers, gear heads, cowboys, crossdressers, transvestites, Sand M, Strat addicts, drama queens, cat ladies,
gamers, hipsters, to many to even mention and a definite upsurge of nationalism and shadow groups. Everyone has an agenda,
their own ideology, religion and distorted view of reality. It's fascinating to watch and even experience in all it's beauty, savagery and bizarre humor; on the streets and cyberville. I love it.

It's hard to keep a rational perspective and not buy into the seductive flavors of Bull Sh!t but that only ads to the spice of being a human being.

I think the thing that is most depressing is that people attack the candidate they aren't voting for with thread after thread because they can't find anything positive about the candidate they are voting for.

Heck, that is my situation. I don't support anyone, but it is easy to attack the other one. This is because they are both BAD candidates. I don't disagree that either of them are bad...it is just that we are beating a dead horse now...I am convinced they both suck.

I think the worst thing about this election is it is my daughters first chance to vote for President...I feel bad that she has to decide between these two ridiculous clowns.

You simply don't support what was forced on you. I'm in that seat as i did not vote for any of this. But it is what was dumped on me to vote for.

The point is that any post on aliens gets pissed at by kid debunkers with an attitude so posting that is rather useless.
ATS open minded ? Well it used to be. So I stick to politics and more mainstream topics. As a long time lurker I can say ATS used to be tons of fun with good and interesting reading now well... It's MSM or even worse.

She voted for Ted Cruz in the primary (her choice and not who I voted for) and she WANTS to vote for Gary Johnson, but she told me that logically if she doesn't vote for Trump then she is voting for Hillary.

Actually, I think she has this voting thing pretty much figured out...that is what I do as well...best of the worst.

I love this website, and always have.

The only things that currently affect my enjoyment of the site, are the fact that the election is such a massive pile of failure that only a Tory economic policy rivals it for its stupidity, polarising effect and distastefulness, and one other matter. There is no where decent for a poem to be posted. Other than that, there is nothing I like better than to trawl the site and discuss the matters of the day, or the century with the membership here.

It would be nice though, if we could get back to business, rather than allowing the distraction that this election season has been, to cloud the intent of the site. There are issues afoot, I am sure, which have been missed or simply buried by election nonsense, and I will be glad of it when the election is no longer the hot topic.

Used to enjoy ATS but only check in, scan New and leave.

It's all politics all the time.
Definitely NOT why I joined, or would remain to read & contribute. Can't see it getting better after the election since the site has "morphed" over to mostly MSM type topics which I can get anywhere else.

If MirageMan,Zaphod & Punkinworks hadn't started a few good threads I'd already be gone.

Ha, more like a microcosm of the US. All we get is constant Trump and Hillary threads, with the occasional fight between Republicans and Democrats. I'm sick of it, so i hope it does pass once this election is over and done with.

It's more like every 2.5 years because we have 1.5 years of campaigning for a job with a 4 year term. Pretty strange isn't it?

Don't forget the mid-term elections for the House. That's a circus too.

Not so much for the past year, to be honest.

Too much casual racism and hatred has crept in for my liking.

It's a sad state imo. Politics has polarized everyone and everything, I doubt many discussion boards can avoid the infection. I wish stringent action was taken against those determined to erode moral and comradeship. Maybe split politics off from the board like years past. Anything is preferable to the contentious environment we see today.

Maybe I need to take a break from politics too...
