It is so similar. One part triples Americorps, which is full time. Another part gives training and exprcts contribution . They get training and can get a better job. When you are needed, you get a call. Just like the National Guard.

Is there something wrong with this? It would be voluntary. Tell me what is wrong with it.

You just pointed out AmeriCorps, Civil Service and the National Guard which provide all of the necessary functions. Some of them overlap. Now yet another? No thank you.

Why no thank you? Some people can't join the reserves or americorps or get a civil service job- age, childcare concerns, lack of training. Etc.

Explain why.

Ok, do we have a National Service Reserve? No
Do we have a National Guard? Yes
Will this cost the government money? Yes
Will these people work for money? No

Paid what and by whom? Would it be on par with enlistees pay? I surely don't like the idea of yet another new government program.

The National Service Reserve will be a new program

5 million people all trained to take your guns away.

The Military won't do it. There will need to be an excuse and done while much of the military is off shore making tons of money for the bosses.

No, The National Service Reserve will be a new program.

Back in the day, the Civil Service would be the ones showing you where the bomb shelters were when the air raid sirens went off.

Hmmm, I wonder....

Anyone see any loud speakers being put up on telephone poles around their area?

There are still just under 3 million civil service employees.

About the loudspeakers, they just tested the FEMA nationwide emergency alert system.

Sounds like Civil Service.

Yes, that, but toss in the goody of it being the backbone of a social-engineering program with a dedicated purpose and you may not want a "brown shirt" if you are an individual sort.

Didn't obama want a Civil Defence Force?

Sounds like she is wanting to complete his mission.

Believe me, she'll complete it and expand upon it. This is merely a sample of the wreckage to come.

Why don't y'all see what it actually is before passing judgements about it?

After receiving some "basic training," those in the services reserves could be called upon to help respond to natural disasters, public health campaigns or other projects.

"Some of those assignments will be just a few days, a month," Clinton said. "Some might be longer-term. But they will all directly address a vital need in your community.

And more comprehensively:

Hillary Clinton wants you to serve your country. The Democratic presidential candidate proposed a new program on Friday aimed at expanding national service volunteer opportunities–for young Americans in particular.

Clinton’s National Service Reserve would allow Americans pitch in with ongoing service projects addressing the addiction epidemic or helping the homeless, or perhaps to help provide emergency relief in national disasters and situations such as the water crisis in Flint, Mich.

Clinton plans to work with corporations and universities to ensure “reservists” get paid time off to volunteer or, in the case of students, college credit.

yes and equipped with the same as the military and police forces.

ETA: well he actually said,

‘We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.'” Read more at www.wnd.com...

Obama Civilian Security

Is Obama planning to have a Civilian Security Force in addition to the military?

Even though it may be masked under "service" and "reserve" it sounds like more indoctrination.

So is this modeled more like the CCC or the Hitler Youth? Had to be asked.

Despite its popular support, the CCC was never a permanent agency. It depended on emergency and temporary Congressional legislation and funding to operate. By 1942, with World War II and the draft in operation, the need for work relief declined, and Congress voted to close the program.[10]

I could easily see that happening again in the same fashion.

On 10 October 1945, it was outlawed by the Allied Control Council along with other Nazi Party organisations. Under Section 86 of the Criminal Code of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Hitler Youth is an "unconstitutional organisation" and the distribution or public use of its symbols, except for educational or research purposes, are not permitted.

Well, that too!
