We had an insurance salesman come by a while back who claimed to be an ex-wrassler (as in the level just below WWE). We're both wrasslin' fans and at one point he called a guy up who claimed to be Ted DiBiase Jr. He sounded like him. The salesman was built like a wrassler. Might have been him. I talked to him a few minutes, thanked him for the memories, and was done. My wife talked about meeting a real wrassler for weeks after.

I checked out the insurance. It was crap.

I have never been impressed with meeting celebrities. They're just people with a different job. The few times I have met a celebrity, I wasn't impressed.

I just don't understand that mindset...

It's a stereotype. The big mean dumb redneck with tattoos and guns who likes to fight people, drive way too fast, and drink way too much.

I'm a redneck. I stand 6'-2", have a long full beard that would dull a bush hog, wear a black Stetson I shaped myself, got an accent that makes Jed Clampett sound like Rudy Giuliano by comparison, love Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, and live in a ramshackle trailer sitting back in the woods. Heck, I qualify on 50% of Jeff Foxworthy's tests! I owned a fireworks stand at one time, was an avid hotrodder, and love to watch wrasslin'. I was even a NASCAR fan back when the King was racing.

I have ducks and chickens running loose in my yard and 4 junker vehicles in that yard. I own a small arsenal. My grass needs cutting. Yeah, redneck.

I am also a degreed electrical engineer, work with NASA, am pursuing a Masters program, and have my own electronics lab for private research.

Tara's entire argument is based on stereotypes that she can't even keep straight. She judges others based on superfluous information without ever trying to see who they really are. She's racist, in the most exacting of definitions. If she had flipped off a black man for having a BLM sign and then gone on to accuse him of liking watermelon or some silly stereotype like that, she would be called on it hard. But her target is a 'redneck' so everything's fine with using the stereotypes.

I have noticed that most PC talk and progressive activists are like that. They are the worst kind of racist, but hide behind accusing others: classic projection. And at least in her case, it makes sense. All racism is footed in fear, and her anthropophobia is so out of control she was probably terrified just doing the radio show.

My degree is Computer Science and used to work with Lockheed Martin Global Combat Support Systems and SAKS Fifth Avenue on security and virtualization. I now just work with my wife in our family business...much more relaxing and more time to do what I like...drive 4-wheelers and dirt bikes, shoot things in the back yard, get tats, eat bacon and grits and drink whenever I want and say y'all....

So I read in a youtube comment that apparently she has an unsavory in Portland, notwithstanding its Progressive bent. Btw, it is funny how progressive attitudes flourish the most in places like Portland, Seattle, Wisconsin and other very white areas that do not have to deal so much with the wonders of multiculturalism.
But I digress. One of the comments recounted a rumor that a bad possibly the Foo Fighters put a restraining order out on her. Is there a way to find that information online if so?
Finally, has anybody searched any portland themed message boards or maybe perhaps grunge/American indie message boards with an emphasis on the Northwest Music scene?

Yeah she would HATE me, and for that I am proud. I was born in West Virginia and through life finally found my way back. I live in a town that has one red light and I think that is just for looks. I own many guns and love going out and shooting them. Yeehaw! My husband and I both have multiple tattoos and I have a 78 TransAm that I am restoring with my dad. (The ultimate redneck car!)

I have 2 IT degrees and am currently working on another. I am a server admin at a local hospital. I still watch NASCAR (kinda) One of my husband’s friend’s son just started driving in the truck series.

I am surrounded by coal miners and military in family and in life. Forget about living the PC way of life, I will take this one ANYDAY!!!!

I find it funny that she has created so many little boxes she doesn’t even know what she is talking about. Thanks, but I think I will stick to the Redneck Life. I may be a Redneck but at least my roots are grounded and I know what I stand for!

No idea, but it would likely be the guy she has the pics with, David Grohl, from the Foo Fighters...she has a strange obsession with him and with her personality I could see it leading to a restraining order.

Here we are, in this thread, celebrating our way of life. We're happy with who and what we are, and we're not afraid to say so. So many people seem to not be satisfied with their life, for whatever reasons (greed, laziness, etc.).

I believe there may be a jealousy component. The sad part of that is that anyone can be anything they want, as long as they're willing to do it.

I have a neighbor/friend who lives a quarter mile from me. He has told people he's jealous of me, and I never understood why. He has a stable job he's held for 25 years, a nice house, a very nice truck, friends over constantly, a beautiful daughter and two fantastic grandkids. I have had to struggle my whole life financially, am regularly fixing on my car, and am a loner. I would love to have the nice things and security he has in his life.

My kids have it better than his financially, admittedly, but no one here has ever cared about that. Financial success is just not a good indicator of character. And I'm still waiting on grandkids.

Ironically, we drifted apart when I went back to school. He could have done the same, easier than me. The boy is smart. But he didn't. And he has made a few disparaging remarks about engineers. Maybe that's a part of it?

I dunno, have we changed as a society to believe we can't do the things we want to do because they're too hard?

I think a lot of people these days want instant gratification. If they have to work for it, it's too hard. I see this a lot at work.

The director of our department called and meeting and told everyone that they would be adding jobs but more school was needed or he would have to hire from outside...I was the only one willing to go back to school. The others thought they had been here long enough to just get the job. So now, even though many of them were here before me I was promoted and they weren't. I am often treated as this is my fault or something that I did to unfairly "steal" this position.

I also see this in the "happenings" in the world today. People feel that they "deserve" things in life. No one wants to work for anything. They want a $15 minimum wage.....even though they have no trade. They want health coverage....even though they don't pay for it. Don't even get me started!!!

I came across a few references to her from about 2010-ish. Apparently her "Tara knows best" act goes back for years and plenty of jimmies have been rustled in the past.
