Over the few years that I have spent here on ATS, I have made a host of predictions centered on September 16, 2016; the primary one being that the Rapture would occur on that date. Obviously that did not happen. I don't believe that all of my research has been a waste, as I have been able to plot key geopolitical events to certain dates related to my original hypothesis, nevertheless, I have proven myself to be immature and presumptuous in my observational skills. One observation that I would like to note is the trend towards the reunification of old Eastern and Western Roman territories. On September 16th, 2016, the EU held a summit in Bratislava, Slovakia . Among other things, one of the issues discussed at this summit involved Turkey's potential accession into the EU (first step to Reviving Rome). However, this was not the Rapture, not what I initially predicted, and many ATSers would prefer to rub that in my face than to try to see what I see.

If I have misled any of you, I do apologize. Say whatever that you feel you must say. I'm more concerned with what God is going to do with me over my stupidity.

Not much.
Not nearly what you're doing to yourself.

Nothing. I have decided to pardon you my son.

I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. Look at how many failed predictions there are about 2000, 2012 and Nibiru.

We'll just add yours to the list of "meh".

Well, so far I'm having a pretty peaceful Saturday aside from the fact that all the local gas stations are out of gas.

There are so many predictions made on ATS that haven't actually happened.

You are the first thread maker, that I have seen, to actually come back and remind us of the fact that you got it wrong.

Rapture predictions are always spurious because there is no such thing. It's wishful thinking Christians believe will save them and only them from the reign of evil.

Ha. Your prediction failed. HUGE surprise.

People tend to do that when others fancy themselves prophets, if you want to be a prophet your predictions need to come true, if they don't and people rub it in your face it's because your trying to be a prophet and that's grandiose thinking on your part.

If I have misled any of you, I do apologize. Say whatever that you feel you must say. I'm more concerned with what God is going to do with me over my stupidity.

It's not stupidity, just misguided belief in your self as a prophet of God and it's exposure to religion that drove you to that point.

Keep your faith, lose the urge to be a prophet. Edgar Cayce is who people like you are best compared to. Or Joseph Smith, Ellen White and other cult leaders who can't stand their humanity and regularity and desire to be able to predict the future so they can say they have prophetic powers.

You might take this opportunity to examine the beliefs that you do have. Why do you believe in God, Jesus, and "The Rapture" in the first place? If by some strange reason they are not all nonsense, your interpretation of them is nonsense. You just proved it. You screwed up your prediction rather dramatically, based on your beliefs. What does that say about your beliefs? Will you question the very basis of them, or will you continue down the blind path you have taken so far? It's a great time to take stock, but I suspect you'll continue as before, stopping with your failed prediction, but failing to question the truth of what the prediction was about.

Matthew 24:36King James Version (KJV)
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

many people have tried to put a date on it, and nary a one has gotten it right.

Zech 14:7 For it will be a unique day which is known to the LORD...

Just like Zech 14, Matt 24:36 is about the Day of the Lord, not the Rapture. They are two very different events.

Well, so far I'm having a pretty peaceful Saturday aside from the fact that all the local gas stations are out of gas.

Off topic and more important to many in your area is the gas pipeline leak causing fuel shortages or outages?? Maybe your prediction was not off but not on a grand scale as you presumed. However given the circumstances or need to get from A to B,I am sure the gas shortage is very bad and possibly life and death for some.
Alabama Fuel Pipeline Leak

Gov. Bill Haslam issued an executive order Friday allowing fuel-truck drivers in Tennessee to exceed hourly limits, in an effort to prevent a gas shortage after a massive gas leak in Alabama.

Someone smelled gas in rural Shelby County, Ala., south of Birmingham, last week, according to Colonial Pipeline Company, forcing the shutdown of "Line 1," the major pipeline pumping fuel from Houston to New York. Colonial says the pipe is being repaired and should be operational next week, but in the meantime, the shutdown will results in shortages and likely higher fuel prices at points north of Birmingham. Tennessee is expected to be one of the first states that sees the price surge.

Yeah. Cause a broken gasoline pipe is just like the rapture.
Wait!
Rapture...rupture...whoa!

there is no rapture, just the day of his coming. take no ones word other than Jesus.

Chapter 24 talks of everything but these two verses say it more than any thing,

Matthew 24:36King James Version (KJV)
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

if that is not being taken up and not suffering, i don't know what does.

i personally don't believe in a pre tribulation or mid tribulation i believe in the day of the Lord, just like Jesus said.

If you don't mind me asking, what state are you in? I was told the gas situation wouldn't effect the area im in but it is. I'm in middle Tennessee.

The prediction. I also had a feeling all day that something big would happen. Not my place to criticize or judge others.

A lot happened on Sept 16th:

1) EU-Turkey issues at Bratislava Summit: geopolitics related to Eschatology.

2) South East gas shortage: has economic impact.

3) Gary Johnson is excluded from the Debates: The first debate is on Sept 26th. If Sept 16th was the true Feast of Trumpets, then the 26th will be the true Day of Atonement. Its a significant trend, because yet again, only the two-party system gets publicity. As goes American politics, so goes the Middle East and Europe.

But all that is meaningless, because I made a bad prediction. Some people are interested in my screw up, not what is actually happening.

Except Cobaltic1978, he's not interested in my screw up at all.
