Blumenthal, a top aide of Clinton, pushed the story to an editor, who then investigated.

So one of Clinton's senior campaign aides and advisors, along with some of her lower level campaign team, started it, and yes Trump took it further. It was mainstream before though, after the Obama campaign issued a statement calling out Clinton's tactics in 2008.

I don't even support Trump (John McAfee), and I interpret it as you completely grasping at straws. The man isn't insulting his voters, he is complimenting them.

Again, at this point, it makes no difference whether it's true or not, the damage has been done either way.

So it's a non-issue issue. I personally have stopped caring. One way or the other a precedent has been set and allowed and we're not putting the horse back into the barn.

Come on now, she had one recently where she had to field tough questions like "What did you watch on TV whilst you were off ill". A really savage question there.

So so many lies in the OP. First off, the birther movement was not started by Clinton. This statement is patently false and has been debunked time and time again. Secondly, the media is pissed because they were tricked into running what was essentially an infomercial for Trump's new hotel. It shows that he is already willing to use political power for financial gain and he isn't even in office yet. If Hillary had done the same thing that Trump just did you guys would be apoplectic, and screaming from the highest mountain top about corruption and jail time.

a reply to: Sublimecraft Actually I believe the very first birther allegation came from Orly Taitz (strange no one seems to remember her). The movement was picked up by republicans and some disaffected Hillary supporters but the Hillary campaign NEVER supported or promoted the birther movement.

In fact, there were several people publicly pushing the theory, which was repeated extensively on conservative news outlets. There were the two Clinton supporters, but there is no evidence that Clinton herself or her campaign spread the story.
