Trump had the media going when he said something about making an "announcement".

Looks like the media automatically thought he would be talking about the newest Obama birth meme from Hillary.

Turns out the media event was mostly about Military heroes !!!!

Media Outraged After Trump Tricks Them To Cover Endorsements From Military Heroes

The media showed up to the presidential ballroom of the new Trump International Hotel on Friday morning expecting Donald Trump to take questions about whether he still questions if President Obama was born in the United States.

Instead, they got more than a half hour of a variety of military heroes — generals, medal of honor recipients and a gold star wife — expressing support for the Republican nominee. And it all aired live on the cable news networks.

Before the event, Trump tweeted: “I am now going to the brand new Trump International, Hotel D.C. for a major statement.” That was interpreted by the press to mean he was going to address “birther questions.”

And he saved the best part for last....

At the very end of the campaign event, Trump finally addressed the topic the media was there to hear. “Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy. I finished it.”

“President Barack Obama was born in the United States,” Trump said. “Period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong again.”

Imagine the crew at CNN and MSNBC losing their minds!

Outraged? Because they misinterpreted a vague statement by Trump?

If they were going there to report on whether or not Trump believed Obama was born in the United States, that seems like a huge waste of time and resources to begin with.

Can't say I'm a big Trump fan, but I have to side with him over the "media" on this one. People need to stop being "outraged" every time they're inconvenienced by their own pettiness and stupidity.

Get real.

I think this was a great move by Trump, did it lack integrity maybe. But you saw the media was ready to pounce and strike at him if he fully addressed the birth certificate thing. But you saw this also made the media you look like Jerks. Well I can only speak for CNN since I saw it there. But there were made that they got tricked into covering an event about military people and heroes. Darn we have to cover the military heroes curse you Donald Trump. hahha

Poor hack media. Trump gives them something they're unable to spin into a slanderous hit piece.

Say what you want, but I think allot of people especially the mainstreammedia totally underestimated Mr. Trumps political prowess.....

I'm just agreeing with Trump, he's the one who said he could shoot somebody in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not lose any supporters.

What do you think he meant by that? Seems pretty clear that he was declaring that no matter what he did, his supporters would go right on supporting him. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The fact that Trump insulted every single one of his supporters to their faces on national television and didn't lose any support — as he predicted in the insult — makes Trump one the greatest trolls ever. This is small potatoes next to that.

Seeing the main stream media lose what little credibility they have left is almost as good as it would be seeing bill, Hillary and a cast of hundreds in Congress and the Senate in jail. I hope Trump keeps up the good work!

The thing I find funny about this is that this is a perfect "Cry wolf" situation. What if news outlets just stop showing up to Trump's "Major announcements?" How many Trump supporters laughing at the media will scream "favoritism!" if they stop paying attention to him?
