I'm currently unemployed, 30 years old, and living in my parents basement (but I have my wife with me so it's ok, not depressing or anything). Not my favorite place to be but that's where I'm stuck right now...

I have a Bachelor's, but it's in Communications Studies, nothing to write home about. I'm just a pretty ordinary everyday dude.

It seems to me that we are all ordinary everyday people, that's what I'm enjoying the most about this thread

For almost a decade, I was a warehouse manager/forklift operator for a feed store. Hay bales and fencing supply, all things farm and country.

I also spent a few years as a forest fire fighter. Hiking way into the Olympic mountains and cutting down undergrowth and doing controlled burns and stuff.

Edit to say: my wife works for a Christian non-profit. Making junk type mail for feeding children and whatnot.

Software Developer here. I have a background in game development but I'm currently doing the corporate thing in mobile payment processing.

Looking to work for myself, instead, and get back in touch with my gaming roots soon. Big corporate environments are just soul-sucking to me.

I get paid to talk sh!t over instrumentals, aka I'm a rapper. Doesn't sound as cool on paper, but I haven't had to work a real job in 11 years so I'll take it.

If you're getting paid as a musical artist, then that qualifies as a job, it doesn't matter if you are playing a violin in the Boston philharmonic or rapping, if you are getting paid for it then you are a professional musician.

I'm a software developer for a media company.

I've been writing test scripts in Ruby for quite some time now. I did a lot of Java web development before that, really like test automation, though.

In my spare time I've been learning game programming. I want to make mobile games for fun, I released my first mobile game in 2015, and I have been working on it's sequel. Time is a factor, though (kids, wife, house, etc).
