Big corporate environments are just soul-sucking to me

I used to work as a developer for Nationwide Insurance, and left for this very reason. The atmosphere was horribly depressing.

I still work for a large company, but I have been extremely lucky in finding a fulltime, work-from-home position.

Good luck with the game programming, I too want to work for myself making mobile games.

I didn't read the entire thread- but I'm assuming more people have waited tables. I did that for a few years, worked at a car dealership (not sales) but I got to see that the stereotype isn't a total lie! Now I'm a maid, cook, laundry service and chauffeur.

But I'm actually in training for eyelash extensions (it's a real thing, and I never thought I'd be doing it).

I volunteer to be your first customer, it would help with my stated occupation on page 1.

I'm a housepainter, plasterer running my own company for almost five years now. I got sacked when the recession started in my country construction was struck very hard in that time .

But, yeah don't talk about Science or UFO's or other mysterious phenomena on the construction floor because you get all the nut case tedious jobs..

Besides being cast and crew on union gigs, as a sideline I also write scripts and screenplays for film and TV.

I want to thank ATS members for providing me with inspiration, content, and totally unique subject matter and themes. And some of the funniest **** I have ever read.

Thanks for the kind words! I would love to get a position working remotely, I believe that will give me the most flexibility to get my own work off the ground. Great job nabbing an opportunity like that! I've been keeping my eyes peeled and feelers out.

Thanks for the well wishes and best of luck to you in your endeavors as well, especially with the game aspect! If you have any game development questions or just want to chat about it in general, feel free to PM me anytime!

Have a good one!

I would love to hover uber sharp tweezers millimeters from your eyeball.... Then apply the most absurdly long (perhaps glittery) lashes you have ever seen! That way you can get glitter all over the guests' faces (and they'll never be able to explain it away to their wives!)
