For those that don't know, ATS has had a long-standing policy of not tolerating hoaxers, fakers, or anyone who would attempt to deliberately deceive others. It's even layed out in the Terms and Conditions.

There are a number of YouTube channels and websites that are well-known among the UFO research community that either create hoaxes, or peddle other peoples' hoaxes. UFO Theater's "UFO Blacklist" does an excellent job of listing those channels and sites, and explains why. Many with corroborating evidence:

It would do you some good as a poster, and serious UFO researcher if that's what you're trying to be, to check that list twice before posting your video from some "popular" YouTube channel or site. A good portion of those channels and sites are on ATS' auto-HOAX bin list. So, if you don't want your thread ending up in the HOAX bin, double check that the channel that is hosting the video isn't already flagged.

Even uploading the hoax video to a channel not on the Blacklist could still get your thread auto-HOAX binned if the video originated on a flagged channel or website.

Real UFO researchers don't like hoaxes. Not even a little. It severely tarnishes and bogs down real UFO research. Sites like ATS' membership, MUFON, MetaBunk, UFO Theater, and many others, will continue to expose these fraud sites and channels for what they are.

Blake Cousins or whatever his name is from ThirdBlazeofMoon is one of the most fascinating guys to listen to- he is eloquent, sophisticated, and well-versed in UFOlogy. And, Hillary is 100% healthy, too. Just because they don't tell the truth doesn't mean they aren't worthy of adoration.

(I would love it if ATS would fix the bug that messes up trying to italicize a letter or word. They blame MS Edge, however.)

I seen so many people try to defend all those hoax channels and if you look at their comment section, they even have fans who take their word for everything. It seems many have no critical thinking skills.

This is an excellent list thank you ..... but is there a list of genuine youttube channels that we can trust?

I especially cant stand thirdphaseofmoon. Hoaxers so lame that they cant even get the grammer correct in their own name. Shouldnt there be a "the" in there?

Clearly his blacklist is an opinion! There are many valid channels on this so called blacklist. Who are posting the truth because it conflicts with beliefs of so called UFOs! Many daylight observers are on this list using method to attract anomalous objects. He's in the business of entertainment not research! But if a uneducated individual said it then it must be true.

How would you determine what is genuine and what's not? When life can take on any form it wishes? Everything doesn't revolve around the so called flying disks and greys. The universe is a big place where life could take on various forms.

EASY many of the sites obviously use photographs or videoes to make claims about objects and many members on here have been keen or even professional photographers for many many years and when claims are made about objects in pictures/video we can spot BS claims when they are made.

Life is indeed capable of taking many forms.

Some of those forms post hoaxes on the Internet to make money.

They are welcome to do so somewhere other than ATS.

How about we start a new discussion with the best (so-far, do not have to be perfect) sources for 'vetted' and 'most likely not obvious hoaxes' sources? Don't let the perfect be enemy of "best of what we have now". All researchers make mistake, the honest ones stand up to them, admit them, learn and move on. Yes, there are cases that are contested, and where even experienced researchers disagree. The point is to find out sources, where the authors at least make an effort in finding the truth - unlike hoax monetizing Secureteam, ThirdPhase, etc...

While the discussion at ATS can be occasionally of very high quality (thanks Isaac & Co), the general posts here fall to the same "Oh Gee Whizz, look at the UFO-Orb-Alien-Nazi-autopsy-TopSecret-Underground-Antarctica" videos.

i think a real important thing to remember in these situations is that while a video being on one of these channels doesn't necessarily mark it as a hoax - as these channels will put up anything in the hopes of making a buck off it, even sometimes legit sightings - the fact remains that the channels exist to sensationalise and monetize, and any actual genuine sighting that ends up there will have a more legitimate source of origin.

personally i wouldn't mind the occassional secureteam video from less internet savvy users, in a spirit of 'this looks legit, can we find its originating source' but i understand all too well what sort of dross we'd have to sort through then.
