Like a large portion of the left, not middle-left, throw out the race card?

The majority of people on this site are SJW. Most of the societal issues they introduce and discuss (get worked up about) on this site are done simply for mind entertainment; to project deeper personal issues onto the world; or they are simply just bored. Outside of bringing social matters to attention, most have never attempted to do anything about it...ever.

There are few who walk the talk as well and do their work in silence. There are many who are passionate and care deeply about societal issues, but their hands are tied and are trying to do their part in anyway they can.

However, many people just use these issues as a distraction from their immediate reality. Those are the SJW's.

Thanks for the replies.

My thoughts so far are. Don't use the term anymore. I think when you use the term Social Justice Warrior or SJW as an insult, you change the meaning of the word and by default insult anyone that fights for an issue.

Why not just call them special snow flakes or Idiots? or Misguided Activists? Or Unethical Activist? I think that's the phrase you're all looking for.

Unethical/Misguided Activist. or UMA for short. Yeah, it doesn't have the same snarky feel to it. It doesn't sound condescending enough but that's what we should use.

But, and I could be wrong, it feels like everyone who get's mislabeled at an SJW or a Social Justice Warrior is a liberal or Democrat? Why doesn't it swing both ways? Why can't someone who's offended and up in arms about the 49rs Quarterback kneeling for the Anthem...why don't those people get labeled SJWs. Isn't that the same thing?

I have no issue with someone identifying as a SJW. But, I do have issue with how they debate.

Here is a nice graph drawn by an SJW(if you can read the fine print at the bottom of the graph) that mimics what it is like to debate with everyday SJW's. This is why it is used as an insult. Too many argue with emotions and not rational thoughts.

But all that does is play into the meme/insult/changing the true meaning of Social Justice Warrior.

That and She are not what a Social Justice Warrior is. A Social Justice Warrior would be Martin Luther King JR or any of the Women who fought to get the right to vote in the United States to give you two examples.

The meme you posted show's a misguided activist or some other kind of special snowflake.

Are you claiming that this is the brain of everyone who disagrees with you or are you just posting juvenile memes for your own entertainment?

Apparently this is what MLK and Gandhi's mind looked like?

A textbook example would be the way that people continually try to get offended at the Seminole mascot of FSU on behalf of Native Americans despite that fact the the Seminole tribe itself works closely with the university to make sure that the mascot's depiction is exactly what they want. In other words, the tribe being depicted approves of the depiction and the mascot and continually speaks out officially on its behalf, but that doesn't stop an entirely different group of people from trying to convince them they should feel ashamed of it and shamed by it.

That group is a classic example of a social justice warrior.

I didnt invent this stuff man. It is what it is. SJW has come to mean the irrational extremists who obsess over all that Identity Politics stuff.

You just need to pick a new name to separate yourself from them, if you aren't one of them.

My immediate play on words was "social INjustice warrior". Of course I was trying to 'poke them in the eye' with it. DO what you decide you need.

That's a really good point there, Ketsuko!

My only disagreement is that that would be more of a description of some misguided activists. Not a real Social Justice Warrior.

HOW I DEFINE SJW:
[Social Justice Warriors are Social Justice Activists turned into hate fueled extremists due to adopting Critical Race Theory / Progressive Stack (CRT/PS) concepts of Political Correctness + Victim Mentality deeply into their worldview / ideology. These types tend to obsess over CRT/PS. Their notions of reality tend to be very warped due to CRT/PS, such as how they think that if they're on the side of CRT/PS that they are therefore incapable of being a racist / sexist / etc bigots. They tend to be offended by / defend any and all sorts of criticisms of PC / SJW / BLM and such related major talking points, even when mass murder is involved. They tend to "troll" threads (derail them, ad hominem attack their opponents, etc). Not all SJW's are proper "Special Snowflakes" I doubt, but this new "Special Snowflake Generation" we're seeing unfold has them erupting out into the social scene en masse, as they often tend to identify with the "Oppression Scale" type concepts that CRT/PS is all about. Instead of debate policy issues, they tend to try to keep everything centered on Identity Politics, which is interesting as most of them are white people driven by White Guilt. In this way they tend to be walking cliches of "misery loves company", as projecting their guilt and bigotry and self-loathing onto others is like their daily bread & butter.]

Can't do it bro. I am an actual real Social Justice Warrior in the vein of Susan B Anthony or MLK or Gandhi or anyone of millions of real activists throughout history that have made real, meaningful lasting change. Just because the gamergaters hi jacked the phrase doesn't mean I'll change my self descriptor nor should I. I'll just keep calling people out on it.

Whatever. Sounds like some weird sort of auto-trollery (self-troll) to me if tho you cant let it go and make a new thing.

Someone from the left needs to make a new brand separate from their insanities with actual focal points where victories can be achieved (instead of blaming EVERYTHING on the Patriarchy which cant be beat without HATE-fueled Social Group WARFARE (SGW)).

At the end of the day, does it matter what someone calls another?

If you think you are doing something good, then do it and ignore what others call you.

*shrugs*

But that's my point - Those people who continually look for ways to right what they consider to be social injustice whether they are part of the parties involved or not, are social justice warriors. And for our purposes, they are generally the ones who are not actually fighting true injustice only what they perceive to be injustice.

What other posters have mentioned about Critical Race Theory is important to consider here. The foundational idea is that everything about this country is racist/sexist/homophobic/theocratic because it was founded by straight white men who were more or less Christian/religious. To that end, every existing societal structure must therefore be unjust to anyone who is not perfectly aligned in all spheres and ways to all those axes.

We could get into intersectionalism as part of this, but the gist is that the further away you get from being aligned to the "golden" type, the more unjust and unfair this country will be ... because reasons. I guess a traffic law operates differently somehow for black people than it does for white people. Although I always understood the laws of physics to mean that 55mph to be 55mph no matter what your racial, sexual, religious identity happens to be as you drive.

Hard for me to understand how this occurs coming from a group that supposedly enshrines science as god, but I digress.

So, at any rate, anytime something happens that they can tag on the "white power structure," they call it social injustice and crusade to tear it down. Basically, in the end, they will tear apart all of the country and everything to do with it.

For this reason, people generally suspect they are funded by globalists.
