This is a short topic and hopefully MODS keep it. It's a discussion starter.

I've noticed on many other threads...and most recently the Gary Johnson SJW.. thread. That anyone that disagrees with you or says something you don't like or takes a stand for something...it could be anything, why is that person labeled as a Social Justice Warrior or SJW? It might even be just one word, one sentence, one wrong, or one thing that they're trying to change.

Examples...

Native Americans standing up against the pipeline...you think they're all Social Justice Warriors.
Gary Johnson not liking the Term "Illegal Aliens"...you think he's a social Justice warrior.
A black woman protesting her son being shot by police...you think she's a social Justice Warrior.
That Lesbian woman...she's a social Justice warrior.
That father of the disabled child, he's a social justice warrior.

And you guys don't use the term as it implies.. like someone who really fights for social Justice, like Ghandi or MLK or mother theresa or the Historical Jesus...All of them were social justice warriors or people who fought to change the social norm to benefit everyone, or themselves or some subset that was being treated unfairly.

I don't think Gary Johnson is Social Justice Warrior. I don't see him standing up for anything...he's trying to get elected and doesn't like that term.

Why don't you just say you don't like Gary Johnson because he doesn't like the phrase "Illegal Alien"?

Remember that Social Justice Warrior, as an insult, was first used by the 12 year old prepubescent boys at gamergate because they liked to treat woman unfairly for some reason.

SJW is a terrible term to use for an insult.

MLK, Mother Theresa...Susan B Anthony...and all of the real social justice warriors would be and probaby are turning over in their graves every time they here that term bandied about.

I am a real social justice warrior...whether that means teaching kids how to handle bullying, supporting new schools in rural communities, marching for change, donating my time and expertise for free to help abused woman etc. Don't use this term as an insult. It's insulting to the rest of us who really do fight for social change.

HOW I DEFINE SJW:

Social Justice Warriors are Social Justice Activists turned into hate fueled extremists due to adopting Critical Race Theory / Progressive Stack (CRT/PS) concepts of Political Correctness + Victim Mentality deeply into their worldview / ideology. These types tend to obsess over CRT/PS. Their notions of reality tend to be very warped due to CRT/PS, such as how they think that if they're on the side of CRT/PS that they are therefore incapable of being a racist / sexist / etc bigots. They tend to be offended by / defend any and all sorts of criticisms of PC / SJW / BLM and such related major talking points, even when mass murder is involved. They tend to "troll" threads (derail them, ad hominem attack their opponents, etc). Not all SJW's are proper "Special Snowflakes" I doubt, but this new "Special Snowflake Generation" we're seeing unfold has them erupting out into the social scene en masse, as they often tend to identify with the "Oppression Scale" type concepts that CRT/PS is all about. Instead of debate policy issues, they tend to try to keep everything centered on Identity Politics, which is interesting as most of them are white people driven by White Guilt. In this way they tend to be walking cliches of "misery loves company", as projecting their guilt and bigotry and self-loathing onto others is like their daily bread & butter.

The perjorative use of sjw stems from those who kick up a stink for no reason than to rock the boat.

www.express.co.uk...

Like the guy in the above news article.
Despite the headline, no muslims cared a fig for the café's extractor fan.

if you go out of your way looking for reasons others should be offended, you are a SJW. You can't hide it, you can't deny it, you must embrace it. Yes, I realize you will be looked at with disdain and disgust, but it's the card you were dealt, so play on playa.

I don't know why everything is defined as SJW, nor do I understand why everything in society needs to be fixed.

SJWs have a certain line that they are keen on towing. They expect special treatment for certain people and deem it "equality" and then suppress the rights of other people and deem it a "necessity." There's no logic or rythm to the madness. It's like waking up in the morning and picking an issue to be vehemently angry about for zero reasons.

It's just another pejorative that immature people use to attempt to belittle people they disagree with. Along with "Sheeple" "Libtard" and "Conservitard". As far as I can tell "SJW" has been used to label anyone who's stuck up for a group that the labelling party doesn't like or agree with.

I usually ignore it, the kinds of people that use demeaning terms like that in discussion aren't worth the energy to argue because they're the kinds of people that argue like a pigeon plays chess, strutting around like they're winning when in fact they're just #ting on the board.

And yet the race card has become so easy to play from that side of the spectrum, why is that?

It's crazy to me that "social justice" is hurled at people as an insult. Textbook version of changing a word's meaning for your own purpose.

Not every one I disagree with is.

Sure, there are enough snowflakes in the world, but they have always been around. Well, in the seventies, eighties and early nineties they weren't.

Then along came P.C acceptance. What a load of bullocks!! Moo!!

It's crazy to me that they're so hyper-sensitive that they would even take "social justice warrior" AS an insult! Which underscores the whole problem with these types.

An acceptable form of protest, a label nonetheless.

If you lack a point of view, hurl insult and be through.

If that's how you label people, just because you disagree with them, then I think that's a mis-use of the term. To me a SJW is someone with a cause who wants everyone else to change a behavior that allegedly is an injustice to someone else. That really doesn't apply to all disagreements, including political ones. I wouldn't call you a SJW if you were voting for Hillary, for example. But if you called me the beneficiary of "white privilege" or decided I was racist for putting up a "Blue Lives Matter" poster then you would fit the category. SJWs who are complete hypocrites are really the worse kind. Driving a car to protest an oil pipeline, for example, is just hilarious.

"Name calling" was once an art, but the proliferation of labeling everything by pejorative terms has rather lessened the impact and is used by people who really have nothing valid to say. In general, mistrust anyone with a cause. When people have a cause to justify their lives, THAT'S a SJW, and sooner or later that cause will be more important than people, and people will suffer because of it.
