This entire thread is ridiculous. I'm quite disappointed that there are people defending the violent assault of someone, while using Islam and being annoying as reasons. Since when was playing music in public illegal or worthy of being assaulted? Or being Muslim? The video description itself mentions nothing of the guy being Muslim, so the general outrage by out anti-Islam members here are unfounded anyway. It goes to show how far ATS has veered off-course, in my opinion. At least there have been a few good contributors here, like yourself, TerryDon79, dawnstar, windword, noonebutme, etc.

I think the key word here is 'allegedly'.

We can't tell from the video what the guy did, if anything with his music. Or whether that was intended to cause offence.

You can see his thumb move on the device in his hand, but that's hardly conclusive.

However, having suffered ignorant thugs who like to broadcast their music from their phones as loudly as possible on public transport and having gleaned that they appear to receive a defiant spiteful satisfaction in intimidating those around them, there is undeniably some catharsis in this video if the story is to be believed.

I'm not particularly proud of that and i hope this guy wasn't seriously injured for playing music. The slap will have taught him a lesson if the story is true. I just hope that lesson isn't that he should harm non-muslims.

I haven't read all the thread, but I've read enough replies supporting the violence to be pretty disgusted with some members.

Whatever the guy did music wise, or even a disrespectful comment he didn't deserve to be sniped with that punch like that.

No there is no evidence in your viewpoint, I see something different and choose to believe the article as is my right just like you have the right to not believe it.

let's say the guy was muslim, and that he deliberately turned up his music a tad while walking past..

the fact still remains, where you can hear them praying on the video, there is no music to be heard!!
maybe the guy just wanted to hear his music instead of letting it get drowned out by their prayers?

it's a public sidewalk, everyone has the right to walk down it..
and well it's a public street, everyone has the right to drive their cars down it.
you could have had people walking down that sidewalk talking to one another in the same volume as the music was at, and they would have just as much right to do so as these people did!

you're in a pubic space, it's not within your rights to dictate just how anyone in that public space acts, that's what laws are for!!! this goes for everyone and everyone should be treated equally!

As a Christian, that makes me cringe. As a mother, it hurts my heart. As a person, it infuriates me.

From the time the man comes into the picture until he's coldcocked by that pathetic excuse of a Christian is all of two seconds -- two seconds!!! -- and he did absolutely nothing during that time to provoke nor deserve it.
