I'm going to keep this one short and sweet, just because I wrote a lengthy thread about this yesterday and don't want to beat a dead horse too long.

In short, I think we're headed for a wild ride in these next few months. Why? Because to anybody paying attention, the media deflection and obfuscation is becoming blaringly apparent.

On Friday, ATS and the MSM were FILLED with reports concerning the discovery of ~15k new Hillary e-mails, some directly concerning Benghazi. As some of you may know, congress and the FBI were looking to the Clinton camp & state department to provide clear cooperation on how these e-mails will be released and evaluated - they even gave her a September 13th deadline.

Come Monday? WEINER'S WEINER REARS ITS UGLY HEAD AGAIN (pun intended)!

Weiner & Abedin Separating Over Continuous Sexting

I'm just going to leave this thought here by saying that it's REALLY interesting that this is happening with Huma Abedin right around the time that her name has consistently been tied to the FBI & congressional investigation. With regards to coming off as sensational, this story is highly more "exciting" than a complicated and hard-to-understand congressional process.

On the train to work this morning, it's all I could see on the headlines. Bright colors, huge text and font of Weiner's situation outed by "a Trump supporter" who blocks out her face.

Lol, is this seriously working for anybody? How can this be understood as ANYTHING other than a diversion?

The topics concerning Hillary's perjury charges are absolutely nowhere to be found in the MSM, and yet Chaffetz is clearly stating she's guilty of this charge as early as this morning.

Chaffetz on this issue 6 days ago:

New findings coming to light and being reported on over the weekend:

New Benghazi Docs Found

This precedence leads to House Republicans alleging that Clinton committed perjury by previously lying under oath. Article from today:

House Republicans Allege Hillary Committed Perjury

I think the Weiner story this Monday morning was an absolute (and pathetic) attempt to divert attention from what's obviously on the minds of perceptive Americans throughout this country.

It makes me angry, and it should make you angry too.

Followed by several paragraphs, links and video and me having to read through it all until the bottom to figure out the point..

I had no clue they were getting a divorce (nor care) until I opened this thread.

So ironically THIS OP was what diverted my attention.

Lol, seriously? Unfortunately you missed my point entirely. I think it's because you spent a good deal of time wondering about why I'm long winded rather than interpret what I wanted to get across.

Spin, good sir. This post is about identifying MSM spin in the process.

I wish people would leave this Weiner alone. Stop touching it!

We should also not pry into the new emails because Mrs. Weiner is having a hard time.

This is just an indication of how corrupt the political party pushing Hillary actually is.

Would Trump necessarily have to be behind this?

I think not. Anybody can claim they're a "trump supporter."

"Weiner is alleged, in a separate New York Post article, to have been baited last month into a racy online chat with a Republican operative he thought was a young woman."

Republican Operative Got Weiner Selfies

Sure seems like somebody at the MSM believes it's not just a case of one of Weiner's victims getting sick and tired of exposing selfies

Agreed, whole heartedly. I just felt it necessary that ATS should have a quick acknowledged chat about it.

This level of diversion not only comes off as helpless (by way of being so obvious), but careless as well. It's as if they really don't care about being out in the open about their prerogatives.

In my personal opinion, acts like these can be taken as an instigation on informed americans watching this perjury issue closely.

The Hillary campaign will throw anyone they can under the bus in order to seize power.

This was a long time in the making, in fact I'm surprised it took this long for the divorce to happen. That said, this news item won't dominate the headlines for more than 3 days tops - Hillary's emails, pay-for-play politics thru her Foundation will continue to make news since there's criminal elements.

As for Wiener - I loathe him. But if he's listening, run far, far, far away otherwise you'll surely be silenced since you must know things and now you have nothing to lose. With that, I'm adding Anthony Wiener to the dead pool.

ETA: I'm putting $20.00 on plane crash. That seems to be the cleanest method to expire politicians.

MSM probably thinking that y the time the book comes out about this election cycle it wont make a difference .I say one book but there could be a large volume in the works .Surely Hillary would require her own set to put it into perspective .Donald on the other hand would make for a good comic strip .

I am pretty sure that Weiner and Huma Abedin were a 'story' long before Trump announced as a candidate.
They still are, apparently.

I'd think huma has probably been thinking divorce for awhile. Its just politically advantages that she decides to pull the trigger now.

Don't look at the headlines, they're a joke, they have been for a long time. Look for the story deep inside, a tiny little byline lost between the car and furniture ads. As far as the TV based news/propaganda stations, ignore them, unless you need a good laugh because they are so far off the mark it's just gotten ridiculous.

Since the goverment changed the law concerning lying in ads and the government's ability to fire off legal propaganda, nothing is worth listening to or reading. It's all BS. You have to go with what you see and whatever stories on the internet you can at least vet to a reasonable extent.

Cheers - Dave

Shouldn't you have put this in "rant"? I mean, this is a personal rant. You chose to put it in the 2016 Election Forum... bringing attention to it. And apparently, this is your second thread on the topic.

And no, I'm not angry. Sometimes there's other news that has every 'right' to take time away from the 24-hour coverage of the clown show, that we call "Election Season".

I heard in passing that Huma was leaving him, and thought, "Good!" but this story will be on the back burner by tomorrow or so and then you can get back to the nitty gritty of the "news" and get your fix.

I don't buy the idea that this is a conspiratorial diversion, set up by the left, to get the attention off of Hillary. Simply, a man has been unfaithful to his wife and she's leaving him. They happen to be high-profile people, so of course, their story is in the news. No conspiracy here.

They were married in 2010, five long years before Trump's candidacy.

Perhaps it's just me, but I don't care about the personal relationships of these people in higher positions.

It's their business, not mine. It's sad that their personal drama makes for popular news.

Yawn is right. This Weiner story is nothing compared to Bill leaving his DNA on Monica's blue dress.

Why did we care about that issue either?

It's none of our business. What they are doing with their bits and pieces is not our concern, unless they are breaking a law.
