What about when it involves illegal immigrants?

Libertarianism falls under the same category as socialism.

A utopian fantasy that takes no account of human nature.

Absolutely no regulations, so corporations can bribe the government without restraint.

What would libertarianism bring?

Forced injections.

$2.00 a day competitive wage with Chinese labor.

Complete oligarchical control, most definitely.

Gary Johnson. No thanks.

That isn't my view of libertarianism.

That's anarcho-capitalism which is a utopian idea.

As a libertarian I believe we need to have regulations that protect the rights of all parties involved in our society.

That is not to be misconstrued as a call for government to grant or create new "rights" or to favor one group over another. I believe in the equal protection of the law.

There should definitely be less regulation involved in our daily lives. No one should have to ask government for permission to exercise their natural and constitutional rights. Ever.

I have no problem with Mexicans and Central Americans who come here to get jobs and raise their kids...who escaped little ranchitos in deserts or gang-riddled states.....

I know dozens and dozens of them. I was, actually, a helper for them!! I went to their homes and apartments to help them learn to take care of their new babies. I took them to prenatal appointments, and helped them sign up for passports, and get food assistance for their infant children who are UNITED STATES CITIZENS. That was one job I had ---- and then I had to leave it because of workplace bullying. I cried when I said goodbye to those families.

Then I got a different job (corporate, not 501c3) and supervised a team of immigrants - mostly Mexican, many Central American (Guatemala, El Salvdor), and also African (Sudanese, Somalian, Jamaican, etc.

That was at a major US-based hotel chain (the name of the hotel chain starts with an H and ends with YATT).....and a many members of that staff were functionally illiterate, but were hard-working, gracious, respectful, articulate, clean, and kind people --- they had come here to escape the desolation and 3rd world poverty of their own native lands.....

they wanted only to earn some money to send home to their aging abuelitas....
sometimes the abuelitas would come to visit -- and they looked like "National Geographic" portraits. Wizened, creased, leathery and stooped....and as kind and nice as they could be.

That's what about illegal immigrants and their children. They WANT vaccinations - they ASK for help choosing healthy foods, and learning how to take care of babies....they SIGN UP for the help that I gave.

It was offered for free to any new parent who wanted it. First three years of the baby's life - we were there, a phone call away, to help. I will NEVER EVER apologize for the work I did with those people. And at the hotel? I defended those women when american guests sexually assaulted them, or accused them of thievery. I stood up for them when they needed lighter-duty because of a high-risk pregnancy. I advocated for them to be allowed to take bereavement leave when their sister-in-law died.

I loved them. I love them still.

They put many Americans to shame with their humility, work ethic, down-to-earth attitudes. They know how to cook, how to make do, and their homes are invariably SPOTLESS.

Thank God I didn't get the cases that were the trailer trash and toothless teens.....because I spoke Spanish, I got to go visit polite, eager parents who worked hard, followed ALL of the rules, paid taxes, had jobs, and appreciated the US.

Those people I care about.

Do you get to cull the herd. One of you first statements, disease needs to cull elements of the population? The next. I love people. I am glad you helped, but to brag about it? Why is it the liberals that wants to play god. Not down on you for your good works. Your the one that threw it out there. But you might want to be a bit more consistent?

The only issue at hand is the vaccination of children, sir.

Are you in favor of vaccination of children for common diseases that are preventable? Or not?

It's not me - it's you lot who are saying vaccinations are bad and you don't want them....

so ----

okay -FINE! Don't get them. Don't let your children get them either. And if your children get sick, DO NOT take them to the doctor.....that will make them even sicker!! Because you know who goes to doctors' offices all day long? SICK PEOPLE! All Day Long.

So - don't go to doctor's offices, and don't go to clinics (especially the ones who accept AIDS patients!), and don't go to any hospital ---
because hospitals are nothing but germ incubators writ large!!!

I have nothing to do with any of the "culling." That is nature's thing.

I would encourage people to have their children vaccinated against those microbes, but it turns out no one thinks that's a good idea! You all think it's some sort of fascist plot!!

So - then, don't! And then, the culling will do whatever.
Why should we spend trillions of dollars a year fighting diseases that would help minimize pain, suffering, infant mortality, long drawn out debilitating degenerative diseases.....

WHY ON EARTH should we be doing that? Organ transplants? NO! If your liver is fried or your bone marrow is infected - oh well!! Sucks, but there we are. Medical preventive measures are government conspiracies to turn you into a walking zombie!!!

DON'T DO IT!!

How about we look at what he actually said rather than what someone reported.

Johnson said he believes vaccination policy should be handled at the local level.
“In my opinion, this is a local issue. If it ends up to be a federal issue, I would come down on the side of science and I would probably require that vaccine,” he said.

digital.vpr.net.../0

Yes, he did say his view has changed but he also points out that this is NOT a federal issue. It's like many other "gotcha" questions reporters tend to ask out of their abysmal ignorance of the difference between federal and state issues. Well, if his view has changed once, it can change again.

Once again, all vaccinations are lumped together as though they're all the same. Do some research---they are not all the same. This is not a sound bite issue despite the msm attempting to make it so.

I think it was a perfect format to illustrate who would be against individual freedoms.

Me, too. He had a great chance and didn't pursue it. But----since he has no dog in state issues (which vaccination is at this point) his view is pretty much inconsequential. As I said, his views can change. At least he's honest enough to admit that his views have changed.
I look at the candidates and still think he's the best chance we have to actually make a significant difference. If either of the major candidates gets to the White House, we have more of the same gridlock on the Hill. Political infighting will continue to be the most important stuff in DC rather than doing the work of the people.

I can vote FOR him and know that I've voted for someone whose views best align with mine. Voting for anyone else would be voting AGAINST someone---not the way I chose to order my life. He has a proven record of leadership and so far we haven't seen the train of Sherpas carrying his baggage the way we've seen with the other two.

More consistent?

Five years on this site, I've been totally consistent. I care about the kids. I think parents should have to get licenses, just like they have to do to drive. I think parent-education should be mandatory.

I think that no baby should be discharged to a parent who can not pass a literacy and basic child-care practices quiz.

I applaud "authorities" who remove children from horrendous circumstances. I think it takes a village to raise a child. I don't care about your freedom to decide if a baby boy should be circumcised and have a priest suck on the wound (No, that is not okay), or a baby girl needs to have her clitoris removed....(No, you may not do that)...

or to raise your kid in some infested, rotting hoarder house.....

I DO NOT THINK YOU SHOULD BE FREE TO DO THOSE THINGS. Child abuse.
YES. Those children SHOULD be removed from their parents.

Wow. This is so liberating!!! I'm so tired of walking on eggshells around here!!!

It's like a whole new world...........

The only 'child' I have right now is my dog. I finally talked mom into cutting out the vaccines, the flea poison, the heartworm meds, the blood tests for all that.

Years on into old age, shes fine.

I don't get flu shots, or other immunizations, I don't do homeopathy or wholistic quackery, either.

I'm fine too, thanks for askin'.

I don't care about your freedom to decide

I do believe this is the crux of many problems facing people today.

I reckon its a good thing that I'm not so simple as to be a single issue voter.

Nope! I don't care when you are obviously incapable of making any sort of appropriate decision.

I worked for years (before the above stories) with kids ---- US kids whose home lives were such a mess that they (the kids) were unable to function in school settings.

So - I DO NOT CARE if you don't want your baby to get a shot. I DO NOT CARE if you think your baby's clitoris or foreskin needs to be amputated. Because those things are BARBARIC.

So you do or don't care? I'm seeing mixed arguments here, it makes a complete circle.

I don't use chemicals on my dogs, either. I feed them high quality food, and they get regular check ups. They get the same treatment as my children did ---- having a medical professional check on things when I thought it was necessary.

I'm not a slave to 'annual rabies shots' and I don't even get mammograms for myself!!!!!

So please step off. I don't use chemicals on my lawn, and I fed my children wholesome foods, home-grown and home-cooked meals. I taught them how to identify plants, and to plant seeds........

I ALSO HAD THEM VACCINATED.
