I'm lonely, man. I have no girlfriend (and I probably won't for a long time. Hey, academics first...). I rarely ever see my sister. My only close friend is my dog. And this one kid from school.

That isn't your Old Man's fault. Get out there and meet people.

I guess I could wait... Maybe something else that's more important may come up in my radar.

I'm not sure if any of you ever heard of the company GeminiJets. Go to their site. I collect their airliner models, as I'm building two 1/400 scale airports. One of PHX in 2002, and the other of CLT (present-day). For the longest time, I've been wanting a "sample model". Gemini usually creates 6-20 sample models. Some are extremely rare. The ones that have 10-20 made are rare, not as rare as the 1-6 ones. I recently found this guy on this Diecast-Aircraft forum who has over 60 sample airliners.

By over 60, I mean over 60 different variations, such as a America West 757-200 with 20 units made, or a British Airways 737-200 with 6 units made.

I was always embarrassed at showing that I like girls near my parents. It's embarrassing. Showing who I have a crush on. That's why I keep women/girls to myself and close friends.

He doesn't want you spending too much time gaming. But I get the realism thing, too.

A bit younger there was a shop I used to spend time at. In the back they had this road race video inside the frame of an old dune buggy with steering wheel, foot pedals and big screen up front. It was wild. Spent hours, fond memories, looking back.

Totally unrelated situations. You said you were lonely. Go and meet people.

You certainly are not going to expand your real life circle of friends here talking with us idiots. Trust me.

I wouldn't consider it gaming. Real pilots use FSX to train.

He always wants to be able to prove me wrong, even though I am correct!

And dad really never pays attention to me anymore. He only focuses on mom. "Oh, screw our son!"

All that sounds like a great opportunity to prove him wrong.

I just gave you some.

Keep in mind we are all adults here, even though we may not act like it, and we are not the type of friends you either need or want at your age.

Gaming, simulation, is there a difference?

Yes, yes their is my friend. Gaming is more un-realistic, whereas simulation is 99.9% based on reality.

But in a way, you are correct. People play games for fun or as a hobby.

But then again, although I enjoy playing FSX, I'm actually learning a lot from it. Such as Autopilot engange/disengage, ILS, autolanding, and landing in general.

Used to play Flight Simulator too, back in the day. Very realistic... gaming.

Also Falcon and F18. They have become quite advanced.

I used to go to arcades a lot too, in Video Game infancy. Put a ton of quarters in the machines. You know you are playing to much when you lay down to go to sleep and all you see is the game playing in your head.
