intrptr is right. NATO has culpability for this. They've been encroaching on Russia's borders too and are pretty much responsible for everything going on in the ME besides the US, Israel and SA. They're the bad guys here.

Yeah I know mate, but the Syrian government are not friendly either...

In fact the only ones I can say with certainty are fighting the good fight in Syria are Hezbollah and the Kurds.

& even then I'm sceptical about that.
