I don't think they're commies...I think they're confused.

Extremely...confused.

They hate foreign rule so much they're opting to shed it in favour of ...um, foreign rule.

It is not foreign rule. The EU is a confederation, not a government.

The EU government tells the governments within the EU what it can and can't do. If the countries government disagrees, tough. They have to do as they're told.

What is the EU "government"???

Did Harry Potter get involved with dragons then?
I didn't read the books or watch the films.

Your people had a Scottish wide vote to stay in the UK.
As a result of staying in the UK your people took part in a UK wide referendum and the UK voted to leave.

So we offered the Scottish "cake or death" and they chose cake. And then we threw away the cake.

Oh behave with the silly intimations, if you have an argument to counter me then be blunt.
I can take it.

As an Englishman I happen to be fond of the relationship we have with the Scots.
We share a common demos and we have a rich close cultural history.
The EU doesn't offer that

Really? Let's see...

Celts - Central Europe and parts of Asia. That includes Romania.
Romans - EU
Angles and Saxons - Northern Germany and the Netherlands with help from the Vikings
The Vikings themselves - Scandinavia
The Normans - who were Viking settlements in Spain and France
The Jutes - Danes, from Jutland

The UK was old German speaking for hundreds of years until the languages started to diverge.

At the end of the day we are all Germans and Scandinavians.

I think our genetic history tells a different story dont you ?

The reason alot of scots want out of the union is not because they are super nationalists etc , its because they want to dissolve the current establishment which is bad for everyone !

I think alot of scots think this is the only way to change the status quo!

we all want rid of the corruption of westminister and this seems to be the only way to do it is through independence.

Bollocks are you doing it as some altruistic favour for the wider UK, it's all about nationalistic self serving interests.
I have no problem with that at all but don't bull# ATS members that it is anything other than wishing a benefit for Scotland.

I just wish you had the balls to leave at the last referendum instead of dragging it out incessantly whinging for who knows how many more years, and God only knows how many more referenda lol

yes actually I wanted independence to end the tyranny of westminister on the whole UK
as once we left others would realise they hold no allegiance to that system of governance and want something better its about getting people out of their comfort zones long enough to realise there is a problem.

I am not a nationalist , im an earthling who just so happens to have been lucky enough to be born in the west and an in a beautiful country with a deep and rich history called Scotland.

I only want whats best for everyone and thats getting rid of our pathetic excuse we call a democracy. We have no constitution only acts and statutes based on a piece of paper written by medieval lords who claim diving rights over others because GOD!

Anyways enough about that , what you call whinging is our right to complain and march and protest.
the same as you are whinging about what you percieve as Scotland whining , that's your right to do that.
So why complain about others rights, a bit hypocritical isnt it ?

Oh wait i forgot you were the word of Plymouth , so you are now my word aye?
I'm not doing it for altruistic reasons I'm doing it because I'm selfish according to you.

quite alot of us wanted to leave , but I'm afraid those loyal to the crown which serves no one but itself voted for us to stay along with the rest who were uncertain. Stockholm syndrome n aww that. We have to remember this has happened many times before in our history and its always the same the loyalists to the crown prevent anything from changing

it's ok your entitled to believe what you like, but I am not a nationalist nor am I selfishly wanting to end tyranny for myself but rather for the greater good.

You dinnae ken me so dinnae judge me , you like everyone other human quick in passing judgement to serve your own ego

Sorry, I don't understand what 'yer at it' means either.
I don't intend to Google your bastardised form of English in order to understand you in debate.
It seems rather childish as you are able to communicate in English but whatever.

Coming from a hypocrite it doesn't bother me at all
you seem very content to dismiss an entire nations culture just to better your own arguement or in this case make yourself seem superior with your "English language" (claiming intellectual superiority over others serves only to feed your ego)
even you know that English is a bastard language taken from many other cultures?

if you don't want to increase your understanding of the world around you then that's fine by me, I'm just trying to alleviate you of your blatant ignorance

and I'd hardly call it a debate when you haven't raised any point worthy of discussion
you are complaining about people who in your own terms are "whining/ whinging" when exercising their rights and you are whining/whinging yourself about them!

Surely you can see that ?

Anyways I wish you well , have a nice day

See, you clearly have a good mastery of the English language. Much better, I couldn't understand your Scottish slang.
I also wish you well, and you are correct, I have no interest in learning your version of English when you already know mine.

I speak Welsh as my second language but I don't post in Welsh on ATS.
You know why? Same as your Scottish slang, few would understand it, and I'm not arrogant enough to expect people to Google it.
