I think you're referring to the story that both Adam Lanza's and James Holmes' fathers were SAID to have been involved in the LIBOR scandal, but at the end of the day it was a Sorcha Faal disinfo piece. Like many stories like this one, it started in one place and then a bunch of other websites/outlets picked up the story and everyone believed it (for a brief period of time)

ETA: And, BTW, any personal opinion I have on his 'natural born citizenship' has been based on all of Obama's claims: That he was born in Hawaii, his mother was a U.S. citizen, and his father was a British subject.

I have never speculated outside of his claimed birth circumstances.

The fact STILL REMAINS, that somehow Obama got an SSN from a state where he NEVER RESIDED, NEVER WORKED, and as far as I know, NEVER VISITED. The CLOSEST he ever came was Boston, who as someone who LIVED in that area for decades, I can attest that it ain't an easy drive to go all the way to CT, and it makes ZERO sense to go there just to get an SSN, when there are places in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Newton, I could go on...lots of places in the 80s to get SSNs.

So do us all a favor and stop making us laugh at the ridiculousness and lack of intelligence that has gone into your posts. You also never responded to HOW he managed to get an SSN that had recently been issued to a dead person, when there are steps in place in the REALL SSA to prevent this from happening.

Ah, gotcha! Either way, it's the reverse of what it ought to be! Raised on the side one reads, and that isn't what we see. Your light source pics show that clearly, as much as some would like to pretend otherwise. The insistence, in fact, of pointing to the official data, and claiming that "debunks" everything, is quite fascinating. Add in the usual name-calling, and insistence that no one talk about the issue, and the behavior is even curiouser.

I have believed from the start that he was hiding something, and that the BCs presented online were faked. Far too many people checked them out, and found errors, as you have done here. I also wondered if some of those people showing their own BCs were legit, or just there to support the story. That none would verify, and that there are other holes in their stories, does not surprise me at all!

As to WHY this would be done, I can't say. As he said himself, though, "The only people who don't want to disclose the truth are people with something to hide." a lot of effort was made to avoid showing a birth certificate, and they were never shown in court. Only online. Plus, his campaign demanded that McCain prove he was eligible, so, for all those claiming it's "racist" to do so, apply that standard there.

As for Cruz, I have a lot of questions about his eligibility myself. Two American parents, I'd have no issue, but one? That's iffy. I wonder if he wasn't put out there to make people accept the possibility, so that if it comes out that O wasn't born where he claims, people won't be able to complain, because Cruz was acceptable. He was the preferred establishment candidate, and I think that might be why.

If it was just a birth certificate question, too, I don't think most people would be so concerned. It's that every aspect of his past is a mystery, that makes people wonder why. No one from a college he is said to have attended remembers him, including people in classes he's said to have taken? Seems unlikely. I have seen pics of his claimed mother, too, looking anything but pregnant, when she should have looked very pregnant. You have to wonder! Excellent thread, by the way.

Note: One should not make too much of the "geographical code." It is not meant to be any kind of useable geographical information. The numbering scheme was designed in 1936 (before computers) to make it easier for SSA to store the applications in our files in Baltimore since the files were organized by regions as well as alphabetically. It was really just a bookkeeping device for our own internal use and was never intended to be anything more than that.

Also remember that the claim about Obama's SSN was bought up in one of the 200+ court cases birthers have lost...

As was pointed out, that claim was just another made up birther lie.... why do birthers lie and make up so much crap?

As for the SSN issue, I can add some information there.

We know it has been shown that his SSN was from a state in which he never lived or worked.

Here's the odd thing. When that story came out, I decided to do some research, to see if the SSNs really did indicate the state in which they were issued. I checked for myself, all my kids (and I have several), my son-in-law, and a sibling, to see if this was true. It was. The SS website showed how the numbers worked, in that regard. Every single one of us was correct, with widely varying ages and states in play.

Now, for the "fun" part. A couple of months later, I went online to show someone else what I'd discovered, and found that the SSA had changed the rules, making the numbers totally random, and removing the handy little charts that showed where a number was issued! No reason at all was given for this change, and the timing was quite interesting!
