I do not think it's a hostile environment. The messages are well received, but perhaps you were expecting the DNC attendees to be as riled-up and foaming at the mouth as we witnessed at the RNC.
There's a difference in the people.
Oh come on - its been an awful day 1 so far. The nominee is getting booed every time her name is mentioned and people are not even listening to the speakers at times.
Awful is a matter of opinion. It did not start well, but it seems to be smooth at this point.
Again, there is a difference in the people. The Right has a specific brand of propaganda that keeps their listeners engaged and enraged. The RNC was a good example of that.
The DNC is slightly boring in their approach. They could learn a thing or two about propaganda.

The democrats could learn a thing or two about propaganda? That's like saying Muhammed Ali could learn a thing or two about boxing.

Yeah, I'm not seeing any issues with this convention.
Different thinking, different style.
I think some posters must be watching something different then I am

I'm glad they decided to remain overwhelmingly positive to in order to highlight the difference between the parties.

It appears the Democrats are the ones talking about equal rights and application of the laws for women and minorites...yet they are being called racist and sexist for it.
