We were, but we're not going to post something we shouldn't, just because we can.

Oooh sam! Those pics are making my toes curl looking at em theyre so damned nice.

Ive literally spent the last half hour blowing them up with child like wonder and glee. Some pics are exhilarating and get that old "god damn i love planes!" feeling back.

Want to make one of them my phones desktop screen image. Hope you dont mind.

It was kind of funny, because we'd review our pics after each group went by, and many of my pics and his pics looked almost identical.

Hey sam and zaph. You guys should take it next level and strategize so that next time you guys go out you stand a 1/4 mile apart and film the planes from two angles simultaneously.

Love that you two get together and do this, we all enjoy the pics. Plus its fun to think you guys are doing more than just talking about airplanes. Your going out and doing field trips to actually see and experience these aircraft.

It'll be awhile for our next trip. We both have pretty significant changes coming up that we're going to have to deal with that are going to delay our next sojourn.

Great pics, enjoyed looking at them. Also think the three tone camo really suits the F-16

They should be. I think both of us are looking forward to our changes.

Feel free to use the photos for personal use. As long as they don't start showing up in the next AvWeek article though.

Well then.... congratulations!?!

Dont worry about avweek. Just want a awesome desktop screen for my phone. That f35 might get upsurped by that tri tone camo gorgeous f16 though.

That one would've been cool to see on an Eagle.

Zaph and Sam...

I am so f'ing jealous of this trip. I've been to Nellis, but I've never seen ANYTHING like this from civy channels. Especially about an OPFOR group.

Amazing and stars all around.

Our jaws were pretty much on the ground for most of the trip.

OK here is my contribution to the trip so far.... I'm going to send correspondence to the AF today. I'll update with either a bunch of cool photos or what the AF said when they get back to me.

Here's mine from Nellis:

Can you tell me what optics you were using at TTR? The pics ARE from Brainwash Butte, right.
You can PM me if you wish.

Yes, it was from Brainwash. I was using a 6" Meade SCT and a 2x Barlow just as the sun came up.

Those are some great pics! Seeing them really takes me back to being young and in love with flight.

I think when the kids grow up fully I'm going to buy a plane.

Interesting tidbit. There was a U-2 deployed to Nellis for Red Flag. What makes it interesting is that this is the first time they've been there in 20 years.

Wasnt there talk abou a year ago of lockheed trying to get the whole tr-x aircraft going to do u2 and global hawk type tactical reconnaissance?

Maybe they got a contract to go ahead and develop tr-x and are testing equipment intended for it with the u2 for now? Getting those systems integrated with what the rest of the team of assests it would have to support are already using.
