No one is in the basement of there was a fire you would have to go out the upstairs. If the window could open you would have to climb up pretty high!

Good thinking! I've never seen a window like that and didn't know it could be unscrwed. I figured there was a way to do something though. Gawd, just free the poor little thing! LOL

check for little eggs under the leaves, that bird doesn't lay chicken sized eggs. it may have heart attack with he noise, careful

Oops i broke the window seal with a screwdriver and got the window out now the bird is flying in the basement. No eggs. Sheet time. Thank you for the help!

I'm laughing because I have had to do that myself. Once was when my Great Nephew brought one of his birds up to show me and it got loose and I had a cat in the house so...running around with a towel. Got him into a corner and all was good. The second time was last year when a chimney swift dropped from the pipe leading to the chimney and landed on my kitchen floor. Again the cat was there and alert. I threw the towel over it and caught it. LOL
